Maria J. Heffran
F, #4558, b. 27 January 1868, d. 1 July 1953
Note* | William D. Rufus married Maria Taylor in Livingston, MT, on 22 November 1892. It was Maria's second marriage and she's shown on their marriage license as Maria Taylor "from" Wisconsin. She had a son, Charles Taylor, from her first marriage who was living in Three Forks, MT, when she died. I believe he was Charles Stuart Taylor, born 17 November 1887 in Livingston, MT, who was living with his wife, Julia, and two children in Roundup, MT, in the 1930 Census. Her obituary indicates Maria was born 27 January 1868 in Govan, Scotland.Trying to identify her maiden name, I (Allan S. Hill) searched Wisconsin records for any Maria born 1868 in Scotland, and found in the 1880 census a Maria Hefran, 13, daughter of Michael and Mary Ann Hefran. (The family is again in the 1900 Wisconsin census, but as Heffran.) The Wisconsin census indicates both parents were born in Ireland, and had two additional children by 1880, both born in Wisconsin, whose birth dates indicate the family immigrated to the US c1868-69.1 | |
