Jackemeyntje Meebie
F, #5447, b. 17 November 1754
Mother-Can* | Margreita Mabie b. 23 Feb 1730; Not sure that this is the correct Margret Mabie1 |
Baptism* | 17 November 1754 | Jackemeyntje Meebie was baptized on 17 November 1754 at First Reformed Dutch Church, Schenectady, Albany County, New York; witnesses: Johannes Schermerhoorn and Eva Bratt.1 |
Anecdote* | | The baptismal record says "child: Jackemeyntje, parents: no father named, Margarita Meebie." There is insufficient information to definately determine which Margarita this might be. The name Jackemeyntje suggests, however, that this was, in fact, Jacob's daughter Margarita. All three sons of Jan Pieterse Mebie had daughters named Margarita, as did Thomas Mebie. Three of the Margaritas were married between 1757 and 1761. The fourth, Jacob's daughter, was not included as "one of my 5 children" in his will which was dated 4/25/1755, this could indicate that she died before the will was written or Jacob could have written her out of the will for having an illegitimate child..2 |
