I was able to link John Browning Smith to his father Joel by family Bible records and a hand-written genealogy starting from Henry Smith's landing in Plymouth, Mass. This written record has been in family many generations and it was only recently that I located the History of Medfield which verified the names, dates, places from immigrant Henry Smith b 1607 to my Mother's Grandfather Moses W Smith b 1857- a son of John Browning Smith.1
