Within the last forty-eight hours, both Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Turneaure, No. 218 East Hannum street, pioneer residents of this city, have died. Early yesterday morning Mrs. Turneaure, 77 years old, died from pneumonia. She had been ill but a few days. At 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon Jacob Turneaure, the husband, 82 years old, died from the disease. He was taken ill two days later than his wife. Next Monday would have been the fifty-ninth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Turneaure. Mr. Turneaure was born in Pennsylvania. Both he and his wife lived in this city for the last thirty-three years. They are survived by two sons and distant relatives living away from this city. Funeral services will be held at the residence today. rev. T. H. Harland will officiate. Burial will be in Carterville cemetery..4 |
