On 20 December 2008 at Ionia, Michigan, the obituary of Dennis Eugene Fancett read: Dennis E. Fancett, age 62, of Fenwick, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008 at Spectrum Health - Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
Dennis was born July 28, 1946 in Edmore the son of Loyal G. Fancett and Edna I. (Klinesmith) Fancett. He married Brenda S. (Schultz) Fancett on March 22, 1969 in Monroe, Mich. Dennis has been a lifelong resident of the Fenwick area where he farmed all his life. He graduated from Carson City-Crystal High School in 1964. He served his country as a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He had a passion for deer hunting and was very successful.
He is survived by his wife Brenda S. Fancett; two sons, Marty (Kelly Jeffries) Fancett, of Orleans and George Fancett, of Fenwick; five grandchildren, Tabitha, Paige, Xania, Tara and Bowen; one great-granddaughter, Kacie; one sister, Salle (Bob Johnson) of Fenwick and one brother, Gary (Becky) Fancett, of Fenwick.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Dec. 21 from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan. Funeral Services will be on Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan. Pastor Kenneth Harger from the Shiloh Community Church will be officiating. Interment will be at the Sunnyhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial considerations to the Ionia High School F.F.A. Scholarship Program. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The Simpson Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the Fancett family with care and compassion during their time of loss and bereavement.¹
