Anecdote* George Mabee had a large cottage at Marshall's Bay on the Ottawa River, near Arnprior. He severed a small lot and Clara [Bingleman] built a cottage there in 1938. After Uncle George died Walter Turnbull purchased the large cottage, and later sold it to Leila and Bruce Green, Leila being a niece to Aunt Clara..
Clara was the daughter of George's half sister Lydia Stuart, and when she was eighteen Uncle George, who was a professor at a university in Ottawa, had her come live with them so she could take a secretarial course. She got a job in the parliament buildings and after a time became the private secretary to Walter Turnbull. Walter at one time was private secretary to Prime Minister McKenzie King, and later became Deputy Postmaster General of Canada, and Aunt Clara remained his private secretary.4
Death*31 March 2008 Clara Emma Bingleman died on 31 March 2008 at Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada, at age 108.4
oObit*  Clara's obituary read: Clara Bingleman was one of those rare individuals whose life spanned three different centuries. Born October 16, 1899 in Walsh, Miss Bingleman died of pneumonia in Simcoe on March 31, in her 109 th year! She was a Hoover descendant by way of Jacob Hoover and Barbara Shank; Christian Hoover and Maria Baer; Barbara Elizabeth Hoover and David Knisely; Elizabeth Knisely and John Shively Bingleman; John Henry Bingleman and Lydia Jane Stuart. Her grandmother Elizabeth Knisley was an aunt of Larry Hamilton's great grandmother Elizabeth "Lizzie" Knisley.4
