His illness covered a period of only a few weeks, and his condition was considered serious for but a few days prior to his death. The funeral was held at the church on Jan. 23d, with Masonic honors, as he had been a member of the Order for over fifty years; sermon by his pastor, the Rev. S. E. Sargeant; burial in the family lot. He is survived by his widow, two daughters (Miss Cora Mabey and Mrs. LeRoy France), one son (Edward), three grandchildren and one sister (Mrs. Warren Finch), all of this place, and one brother (G. H. Mabey of Oak Hill), besides a large circle of other relatives and friends, who mourn his loss.5

July 5th. never fully regained consciousness and passed away early on Thursday. July 8th. aged seventy-two years. The funeral was held at the church on Saturday and was conducted by the Rev. S. E . Sargeant of Pine Hill, the Rev. C. F . Robson of Durham and Dr. R. S. Inglis of Newark, N J. Mrs. Mabey was a loving mother and a kind friend and neighbor who will be greatly missed. She is survived by two daughters (Miss Cora and Mrs. LeRoy France), by one son (Edward) and three grandchildren all of this place; also by two brothers (Edward and Milton Gruett of Newark. N. J.) , as well as by a large number of friends. The sympathy of t h e community is extended to the mourners in their sorrow.7

He was born in Pennsylvania November 20, 1834 and moved with his parents to Belvidere, Ill. He was married to Mary Jane Howe, Marengo, Ill. May 1, 1861.
They moved to Iowa about 54 years ago and engaged in farming in Butler county, moving to Waterloo in 1888, where they had since made their home. Mr. Mabie is survived by Widow, daughter, Clifton Mabie Keeler, Oklahoma City; a brother Jacob Maybie and a sister, Mrs. Julia Rhoads, both of Crompton, Fla.
The body is at Hileman & Gindt's funeral home pending funeral arrangements.8

A satin hat accented with illusion rosettes and seed peals held her finger-tip veil of imported Swiss silk illusion. She carried an ivory prayer book with a white orchid and shower of ivy.
The brides's attendants were attired in gowns similar to the bride's. Mrs. Paul McKinney, Indianapolis, sister of the bride and matron of honor, wore lime green satin and carried a bouquet of variegated carnations and ivy showers. The bridesmaids, Miss Phyllis Kroger and Barbara Barrett, were gowned in a coral color and carried yellow carnations. Each wore a matching hat with a shoulder-length veil.
John T. Doyle was his brother's best man. Ushers were another brother, Richard D. Doyle and J. Eugene Bartley.
Breakfast was served in the Rose Room of the Hotel LaSalle. The reception was held in the Doyle home. When the newlyweds return Sunday from their trip to southern Indiana, they will reside at 611 Portage Avenue. The bride was graduated from John Adams High School. Her husband is a graduate of Nappanee IN High School and the University of Notre Dame.

Funeral services were conducted this afternoon, Wednesday, from the Mc Laughlin funeral home for William W. Shank, 68, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Berrien Springs.
Mr. Shank died Sunday in Indianapolis, Ind., where he had spent the past few months at the home of a daughter.
He was born Feb. 6, 1898, in La Grange, Ind., and was married July 31, 1920 in South Bend to Bertha Kinyon, who survives. They came to Berrien Springs from South Bend in 1945 and he operated a men's clothing store until his retirement in 1958.
Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Paul McKinney of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. J. Patrick Doyle of Houston, Tex; one son, James of St. Joseph, Mich; two sisters, Mrs Alex Bondow of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Cecil Rayle of Deshler, Ohio, and seven grandchildren.
He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Methodist Church and the Lions club of Casselbery, Fla., and a former member of the Berrien Springs Lion club and Methodist church, of village council, and first president of the Berrien Springs Businessmen's association.
Rev. T.H. Bennink of the Methodist church conducted the service and burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
Casket bearers were Carl Guettler, Edward Botham, Hubert Ely, Warren Shultz, Charles Hankins and Edward Zendor.

ABRAHAM DANIEL SHANK DIES AT LAGRANGE HOME
Abraham Daniel Shank passed away at his home on South Poplar Street in this city at 9:00 o'clock this forenoon after suffering since last fall with a cancer on his face. he was 73 years and five months of age.
The funeral will be held at the home at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Shank is survived by the widow, three daughters and a son, Mrs Ora Deter of laGrange, Mrs William McKenzie of Elkhard, Mrs Cecil J. Rayle of Belmore, Ohio and W.W. Shank of South Bend. another child died in infancy.
The deceased was a life long resident of LaGrange. He was employed at the local lumber yard for some years and had been a hard worker.1 
Burial*19 April 1930 He was buried on 19 April 1930 at Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, LaGrange County, Indiana. Inscription "lot 32. S1/2 O.P."1
