Mrs. Mabie was the eldest daugter of Samuel S. Sartwell and Polly Curtlss Sartwell, and was born on the "seventh" 'in this town, July 11, 1850. Her whole life has been spent here.
In February,- 1875, she was married to Franklin G. Mabie who died several years ago. She attended the Congregational Church. She was a great lover of flowers and all her spare moments were spent in the care and cultivation. of them. Her house and yard were always supplied with blossoms.
Mrs. Mabie leaves one son. Edward S. Mabie, and two grandchildren, Florence and Robert Mabie of this village and one sister, Mrs. A. H. Kennispn of West Burke, Vt.
The funeral will be held at her late home tomorrow afternoon at 2:30, the Rev. M. W. VanTassel of the Congregational Church to officiate.7

Mabie, died at 2 o'clock yesterday morning at her home on Third Street. Mrs. Mabie had never been ill in her life until six weeks ago when she suffered a stroke of paralysis, which was the cause of her death. Nancy Sartwell, the daughter of Samuel S. and Polly Curtiss Sartwell, was born at the old Sartwell homestead on the Seventh seventy-five years ago July 21, and had always lived in the town of Camden. In February, 1875, she was married to Mr. Mabie, who died in 1901. Shortly after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Mabie came to the village to reside. Mrs. Mabie lived in the Third Street home more than forty-five years. For Years Mrs. Mabie was a regular attendant of services in the Congregational Church. She was noted for her love of flowers, and there was always a profusion of them about her home. It seemed as if she could make almost any kind of flower grow, for she had success with varieties which do not ordinarily grow here. Surviving Mrs Mabie are a sister Mrs. A. H. Kennison of West Burke, Vt., a son Edward S. Mabie of Camden and two grandchildren, Florence and Robert Mabie.Funeral at 2 p.m. Friday from the home, the Rev. M. W. Van Tassell officiating.8

(Witness) Anecdote1897 Joseph Kline, a well-known resident of Pawling, Dutchess county, engaged in the livery business, has also been for some time in the employ of the United States Government as mail clerk on the Harlem railroad. He learned the carriage maker's trade in early life, but did not follow it long as a business. He and his wife, formerly Miss Carrie Mabie, have three children: Anna A., Mary E. and Agnes J., who are all at home.
Mrs. Kline was born and reared in the town of Dover, Dutchess county, and is a descendant of early settlers in Patterson, Putnam county, where her grandfather, Samuel Mabie, first saw the light. His education was acquired in the common schools there, and he engaged in farming in early manhood. He was united in matrimony with Miss Polly Bolts, and had six children, of whom Hiram, Mrs. Kline's father, was the eldest. William married Laura Dykeman; Phoebe married Nathan Dykeman; Ruth was the wife of James Dykeman; Adaline married J.B. Swan; and Sarah died at an early age.
Hiram Mabie was born in 1823, in Towners, Putnam county, and after obtaining a common-school education there followed agricultural pursuits. He married Miss Julia Pagsley, daughter of Benjamin Pagsley, a leading butcher of Patterson, and his wife, Polly Crosby. Mrs. Kline was the fourth in a family of five children. Of the others, (1) Mary E. has never married. (2) Washington was educated in the town of Dover, Dutchess county, and is now engaged in farming. He married Miss Jennie Fowler and had three children—Estelle, Gertrude and Clarence. (3) Estelle was born and reared in the town of Dover, and she is now the wife of John Haynes, an agriculturist of the town of Pawling. They have two children—Fred and Ruth. (5) Florence, Mrs. Kline's youngest sister, married John Merrick, a resident of Towners, and has no children.4

Mrs. Mabie was a member of the Fishkill Methodist church and in her younger days she attended Drew seminary in Carmel.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. William H. Baker, of Southeast, and Mrs. Harry J. Muntz, of Bellmore, L. I; one son, Clarence, of Chappaqua; and one sister, Mrs. Fannie B. Hughson, of Carmel. Eleven grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held at her late home at Fishkill and burial.7

(Witness) Anecdote1897 Joseph Kline, a well-known resident of Pawling, Dutchess county, engaged in the livery business, has also been for some time in the employ of the United States Government as mail clerk on the Harlem railroad. He learned the carriage maker's trade in early life, but did not follow it long as a business. He and his wife, formerly Miss Carrie Mabie, have three children: Anna A., Mary E. and Agnes J., who are all at home.
Mrs. Kline was born and reared in the town of Dover, Dutchess county, and is a descendant of early settlers in Patterson, Putnam county, where her grandfather, Samuel Mabie, first saw the light. His education was acquired in the common schools there, and he engaged in farming in early manhood. He was united in matrimony with Miss Polly Bolts, and had six children, of whom Hiram, Mrs. Kline's father, was the eldest. William married Laura Dykeman; Phoebe married Nathan Dykeman; Ruth was the wife of James Dykeman; Adaline married J.B. Swan; and Sarah died at an early age.
Hiram Mabie was born in 1823, in Towners, Putnam county, and after obtaining a common-school education there followed agricultural pursuits. He married Miss Julia Pagsley, daughter of Benjamin Pagsley, a leading butcher of Patterson, and his wife, Polly Crosby. Mrs. Kline was the fourth in a family of five children. Of the others, (1) Mary E. has never married. (2) Washington was educated in the town of Dover, Dutchess county, and is now engaged in farming. He married Miss Jennie Fowler and had three children—Estelle, Gertrude and Clarence. (3) Estelle was born and reared in the town of Dover, and she is now the wife of John Haynes, an agriculturist of the town of Pawling. They have two children—Fred and Ruth. (5) Florence, Mrs. Kline's youngest sister, married John Merrick, a resident of Towners, and has no children.4

Mrs Johnson was born in Lacota Oct 18, 1879, the youngest of seven children of John and Jane Maybee. She was married to Dr. George Johnson in October, 1899. Her husband at that time practiced in Lacota
Dr and Mrs Johnson left here in 1908 going to Washington state. Later they moved back to Detroit and there in 1929 Dr Johnson died.
Surviving Mrs Johnson are a son, Cyril, and two grandchildren in Chicago; also a brother, Louis Maybee, of Washington, D.C.
Mrs Johnson was laid to rest in Grace Lawn cemetery, Detroit, at the side of her husband.6

He married Susam Williams in 1848 and moved the same year to Goshen, Ontario. In 1872 they moved to Clinton Co., Iowa and in 1879 they moved to Turner County where they homesteaded in Germantown township. Eight children were born to Oliver D. and Susan Mabee: A son, John, and a daughter Mary, preceded him in death; living at the time of his death were: Gabe D. Mabee, Oliver Mabee, Freeman H Mabee, Maitland Mabee, Mrs. L. W. Cooke and Mrs. W.C. Walker. Susan Mabee, his wife, also pre-deceased him, and he married Matilda Bechtel of DeWitt, Iowa on Sep 19, 1899. Oliver D Mabee died on Dec. 11, 1908. They moved into Parker from the farm and were residents of Parker for several years. the Mabees were Baptists."2
