(Witness) oObit | 31 October 1884 | Anna E. Mabie was mentioned in the obituary of Moses T. Mabie on 31 October 1884 at Buffalo, Erie County, New York; The inevitable call of the death angel which sooner or later desolates every household, came to another prominent business man of this city yesterday, and Moses T. Mabie, the well known Main street boot and shoe dealer, passed into the unknown world beyond the portals of the tomb. Mr. Mabie was born in Putnam county, this state, September 4, 1828, making his age at the time of his demise only fifty-six. During the exciting days of 1849 be joined the Argonaut army who sought their fortunes amid the golden sands of the Pacific slope. After two years be turned his steps eastward once more, and in 1851 established himself in the boot and shoe business in Buffalo. He was a man of a quiet, conservative temperament, kind hearted, industrious, and highly respected by all with whom he was brought in contact through his social or business relations. So disinclined to change was he that for a quarter of a century he carried on his vocation at one stand. About four weeks ago he was stricken down by a disease which finally took the form of impoverishment of the blood, and be steadily declined until yesterday when he breathed his last, at his late residence. 909 East Eagle.
