Mr. Mabee had been visiting his son and was taken ill with pneumonia. He was ill but a short time. Mr. Mabee is survived by his wife and five sons, Fred, Floyd L. and Herman of Ithaca, George of Danby and Arthur of Brookton. The funeral will be held at 10:30 o'clock Thursday morning from the home of the son, Floyd L. Mabee, 410 East Yates Street, The Rev. B. F. Tobey, pastor of the Danby Congregational Church, will officiate and interment will be made in Lake View Cemetery.7 |

He was Norman A. Mabee, 41, of Danby. He collapsed after entering the barn to help remove equipment. Coroner Ralph Low said Mabee had suffered a heart attack complicated by smoke poisoning. According to firemen, sparks from a wood fire in the building had escaped through a break in the chimney, causing the blaze in the two-story, concrete and frame barn. Damage was estimated by firemen at $50,000.11 |

Mrs Mabee retired from the Tompkins Trust Co in 1991 where she had been employed as a senior accounting officer. She joined the bank in 1964 as a bookkeeper, holding positions as head bookkeeper, general ledger clerk, senior accounting clerk and senior accountant. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian church of Ithaca. He other memberships included, Moose, Eagles, VFW, and American Legion Auxiliaries. Mrs Mabee is survived by her daughter Carol Mabee of Seattle WA; grandson Steven Scott Mabee (Debra) of Ithaca; great-grandchildren, Neal Huff, Chelsea Taggert, Kristy Mabee; niece, Jean Benward and her husband Cal Ward and their daughter Sasha. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs Mabee was predeceased by her son, Steven D Mabee; and great-granddaughter Jennifer Mabee. A graveside service will be held later in the spring in Hayts Cemetery.4 |

He had been issues several letters of commendation from within and outside the police department. He was a member of the Ithaca Police Benevolent Association. I addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Beatrice Terwilliger of Ithaca; a son Steven Scott Mabee of Ithaca; a sister Carol Mabee of Houston, Texas; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Services with full police honors will be held Monday at the First Presbyterian Church of Ithaca with the Rev David S Shew officiating. Burial will be in Frear Memorial Park.2 |

Born on May 24, 1918 in Ithaca, Don was the son of Arthur and Lillian Lynch Mabee. Don served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, flying 35 missions over Germany as a waist gunner on B-17's, with the eighth Air Force. On September 24, 1945, he received an honorable discharge with the rank of Staff Sergeant. In the late 1940's, Don accepted a position with Shulman Furniture in Ithaca. While employed at Shulman Furniture he lived in Brooktondale. In the late 1960's, he moved to Interlaken where he owned and operated Mabee Gas Station & Clover Farm Store. During this time Don also raised Black Angus beef cattle. Don is survived by one son, Robert Mabee of Interlaken; one daughter, Joan Lincoln of Grand Island; one sister, Helen Spada of Brooktondale; five grandchildren, Gwen Lincoln-Strum, Tracey Donaldson, Trisha Firth, Kim Lincoln-Dresser and Neal Lincoln; and seven great-grandchildren, Brett, Danny, Kristy, Cassie, Jackie, Megan and Peter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ailene; and one granddaughter, Pam Lincoln. In keeping with Don's wishes, no services have been scheduled.12 |

Mabee of Interlaken, passed away at the Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility in Montour Falls on Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at the age of 88. Born on May 24, 1918 in Ithaca, Don was the son of Arthur and Lillian Lynch Mabee. Don served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, flying 35 missions over Germany as a waist gunner on B-17's, with the eighth Air Force. On September 24, 1945, he received an honorable discharge with the rank of Staff Sergeant. In the late 1940's, Don accepted a position with Shulman Furniture in Ithaca. While employed at Shulman Furniture he lived in Brooktondale. In the late 1960's, he moved to Interlaken where he owned and operated Mabee Gas Station & Clover Farm Store. During this time Don also raised Black Angus beef cattle. Don is survived by one son, Robert Mabee of Interlaken; one daughter, Joan Lincoln of Grand Island; one sister, Helen Spada of Brooktondale; five grandchildren, Gwen Lincoln-Strum, Tracey Donaldson, Trisha Firth, Kim Lincoln-Dresser and Neal Lincoln; and seven great-grandchildren, Brett, Danny, Kristy, Cassie, Jackie, Megan and Peter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ailene; and one granddaughter, Pam Lincoln. In keeping with Don's wishes, no services have been scheduled.4 |
