Eli Mabie came to this county seventy-four years ago, when but six years of age, and has resided in Tippecanoe township practically all of that period. Eli Mabie was a man of strictest integrity. He had a kind and gentle disposition and held the high esteem of all his acquaintances. While he had been ill only a few days previous to his demise, his death came suddenly and quite unexpected. He was born in Ohio on December 21, 1829, and passed away at the age of 80 years, five months, and eleven days. He was the father of Dr. W.A. Mabie, John B.
