(Witness) oObit | 10 September 1884 | Laura Phebe Mabee was mentioned in the obituary of Gilead Mabey on 10 September 1884; Waterford, Sept. 9-- Dr. Gilead Maybee, who has been sick only since last Sunday, died Tuesday morning at four o'clock. The funeral will occur at two o'clock Wednesday. The Dr. was born in Schoharie County, N.Y., in the year 1800. He commenced the study of medicine at Fairfield Medical College in 1837 and graduated in 1839. He practised with distinction for 35 years and at the death of his second wife, which occurred in 1871, he came to this county to reside. He leaves five married daughters, Mrs. L. Goodenough of this place, Mrs. Alma Henston, Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. C. Austin, Brocton, N.Y., Mrs. Sobrina Rogers and Mrs. Catherine Williams, residents of New York state.8 |
