The following was written by herself to be read after her decease: I was born Feb. 3, 1841 in North Coshocton, Steuben County, N.Y; married Alonza B. Stetson of Naples, Ontario County, N.Y., 1859. Husband started soon after to Henry County, Ill. to get a home prepared while I got ready to keep house, and one year later in 1869 joined him there, where in less than 2 years we were again separated by the cruel war. He enlisted in Aug. 1862, leaving home Sept. 15, never to return, being killed instantly by a shell near Knoxville, Tenn., leaving an infant buried in Ill. I went to Lawton, Mich., a widow with a young daughter, May, who was afterwards the wife of O. L. Hill, to live with my parents, and lived there a few years. Married George Maybee of LaGrange in 1868, having lived in northern Michigan 8 years. Returned to Kendallville in March 1891. Buried daughter May by first husband in May 1893. Had 4 children by last husband. Buried 2 sons, one eight months and one nine years old. (Two daughters survive.) Having written this Aug. 20, 1902, I joined the Wesleyan Methodist Church when 15 years old.7

Chester Smith Funeral Home, 122 Meserole Ave., Greenpoint. The Rev. Charles Bell, pastor of Greenpoint Methodist Church, will officiate. There also will be Masonic rites. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Flushing.
Mr. Mable. who lived at 51-17 Junction Boulevard, Elmhurst, died Thursday at his home. He was born In New Jersey and came to New York City as a boy, For 40 years he made his home in Greenpoint before moving 20 years ago to Elmhurst.
Going to work for the Chelsea Fibre Mill in the 1890's. Mr Mabie continued there until his retirement 10 years ago. He had been a member of Reliance Lodge 776, F. & A. M., since
1901. He was a member also of Greenpoint Chapter 117, Order of the Eastern Star. His wife, Mss. Elizabeth Mabie, died 35 years ago.
Surviving art two sons, Cornelius P. and Walter Mabie; three daughters, Ida and Ethel Mabie and Mrs. Lillian La Barbera, and seven grandchildren.11 
Burial He and Elizabeth Veronica McGowan were buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Flushing, Queens County, New York. Inscription "MABIE

(Witness) Anecdote15 December 1874 Cornelius Mabie of Union Hill, eloped with his domestic, Mary Mead, on Tuesday night, and addressed a note to his wife saying that he had no intention of returning home and asking her to "Try and shift for herself." Miss Mead is 17 and Mr. Mabie 56. Mrs Mabie says that she is willing to part with her husband if he returns her children, a boy of 10 and a girl of 8 years.3
