The deceased has been long a resident of this village (blanked out) quaintances. She leaves three sons-Edgar, Levi and William-and one daughter, Mrs. Geo. Baker, to mourn her departure to the spirit world.9

He was born in the town of Shawnee, Niagara county, and had lived in the Tonawandas since the Civil War. During the war he served as a member of Company A, 177th N.Y. Infantry. He was a member of W. B. Scott Post. G. A. R.. which will have charge of the funeral.
Mr. Maybee was a widower, his wife having died four years ago. He is survived by a brother, Levi Maybee of Buffalo. The funeral will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from Miller's undertaking rooms.14

He was born in the LaSalle section of Niagara Falls but had lived in Tonawanda since childhood. He was a member of the First Church of Christ and the Brotherhood of the church. Surviving are a wife, Charlotte, Tonawanda, and a niece, Mrs. Elizabeth HeHlvey, Buffalo.8 
oObit*1 July 1932  On 1 July 1932 at Tonawanda, Erie County, New York, the obituary of Charlotte Trueman read: Mrs. Charlotte Maybee, 74 years old, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Emma Kelley, 119 Hill Street. Mrs Maybee was a member of the First Church of Christ and the Loyal Woman's Class of the church. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Kelley and three brothers, George Trueman of Buffalo, Charles Trueman of Tonawanda, and Harrison Squires of Bay City, Michigan. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Kelley residence. Rev. C. E. Rostofer of the North Tonawanda Church of Christ will officiate and interment will be in the city cemetery.9

(Witness) oObit28 August 1931 Ritie Mabee was mentioned in the obituary of Edward Mabee on 28 August 1931 at Amsterdam, Montgomery County, New York; Death came suddenly to Edward Mabee, one of Johnstown's seven Civil war veterans, Thursday afternoon at 4:30, when he succumbed to a heart attack at the home of Eugene R Streeter, Hale Mills. Mr Mabee was around the house up to the time he was stricken. He was 87 years of age, having been born March 3, 1844 at West Perth, a son of James and Chloe Knickerbocker Mabee.
Mr Mabee was a descendent of two pioneer families of the territory east of Johnstown, that figured in the early history of the country.. He resided for many years at Hale Mills, where he was engaged in milling and was one of the few remaining older residents of that hamlet. He had spent some of his later years in Johnstown, where he was well known.
Mr Mabee was one of the seven Johnstown survivors of the Civil war. He enlisted in Company C, 142nd regiment in July 1862, and served with his company through the engagement, being honorably discharged in August 1865. The only surviving relatives are two nephews, Thomas Mabee of Albany; William Mabee of Amsterdam; two nieces, Miss Chloe Mabee and Miss Rita Mabee of Amsterdam.
The body was removed to the home of Mrs Fred J. Dupree, 139 East State Street, Johnstown, where the funeral will be held Sunday at 2:30, (D. S. T.) Interment will be made in the family plot in Johnstown cemetery.9

Born in Glenville June 23, 1862. Mrs. Mabee had lived in Amsterdam since girlhood. She was a member of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. A quiet, home-loving person, her life was devoted to her family by whom she will be greatly missed.
Surviving Mrs. Mabee are two sons, Thomas J. Mabee, Cleveland, O., and William N. Mnbee, Glen Wild; two daughters, Miss Ritie Mabee and Mrs. George Adams, Amsterdam; three brothers, John H. Waterstreet, Pasadena, Calif., Ellas T. Waterstreet, Albany, and
Theodore E. Waterstreet, this city; four grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.11

(Witness) oObit10 December 1969 Ritie Mabee was mentioned in the obituary of Thomas John Mabee on 10 December 1969 at Amsterdam, Montgomery County, New York; Thomas J. Mabee, 81, of 268 Guy Park Ave., was dead on arrival at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital this morning at 4 o'clock, where he was taken by GAVAC after being stricken at his home. Mr. Mabee was born in Amsterdam on Oct. 17, 1888, the son of James N. and Anna Waterstreet Mabee. A plumber by trade, and a member, of the Plumbers' Union, he was first associated with his father in a plumbing shop on former Spring Street, then in 1914, became employed by various out of state construction companies. He returned to Amsterdam seven years' ago. Survivors include his wife, the former Agnes Sigerer, to whom he was married on July 4, 1911; one son. James J. Mabee, Schenectady; three grandchildren, Mrs. Richard Patrick, Westmere; Thomas Mabee, Selkirk, and Richard Mabee, Colonie; and six great-grandchildren; also a brother, William Mabee, Glen Wild; two sisters, Mrs. George Adams and Miss Ritie Mabee, both of Amsterdam; and several nieces and nephews.13 
(Witness) oObit5 February 1973 Ritie Mabee was mentioned in the obituary of William Nelson Mabee on 5 February 1973 at Schenectady, New York; William Nelson Mabee, 75, of RD 1 Galway died at 2:30 p.m. yesterday at his home. He was in failing health seven months.
Mr. Mabee was born June 20, 1897 in Amsterdam and attended schools there. He was a Galway area resident 28 years. He was a weaver for many years at the former Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Mills, Amsterdam, and then for a long time was a self-employed carpenter. He was last employed at .a tuberculosis hospital at Barkerville, now the Homestead Infirmary.
He was a member of Emmanual Presbyterian Church, Amsterdam.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Frances Bojanowski Mabee; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Abele of Trenton, N.J., and Mrs. Alice La Bombard of RD Galway; a son, James Mabee of Victoria, Tex; two sisters, Miss Ritie Mabee and Mrs. Chloe Adams, both of Amsterdam; five grandsons, seven granddaughters , eight greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Jeffords Funeral Home, Broadalbin, where funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow by the Rev. Clyde Reed of Amsterdam. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Amsterdam. Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Providence Emergency Ambulance Service.14

(Witness) Memo30 June 1893 Lewis Mabie witnessed Peter Farmer Wanser and Abbey Ann Mabie Mayor Wanser, of Jersey City, is not the confirmed bachelor some of his friends imagined. He is a husband and has been for a t least one year, if not for four or five.
When the story of the surgical operation on the Mayor was printed it was stated his wife had been notified the operation was successful and her husband was doing nicely. Many persons who knew the Mayor insisted he was a bachelor. In this way the matter was brought to the attention of the public. There was so much talk that it was decided the secret should be told.
The date of the wedding was not stated. According to one story it was during; the early spring of last year, just before the successful campaign when the Mayor routed the ring's candidate.
The bride was Miss Abbie Mabie, of Milton, N. Y.. who is about thirty-four years old. a few years her husband's junior. Her mother is dead and she has been the housekeeper for her aged father. Duty to her parent impelled her to remain at home, and it was agreed that she should stop at Milton, where the Mayor visited her every Sunday.
When he went to St. Luke's Hospital to submit to the knife his wife came to this city to be near
him.
Dr. Bants said yesterday the Mayor may leave the hospital in a fortnight if he continues to improve
as rapidly as heretofore. The Mayor will rest at his father-in-law's home for a few weeks before resuming his official duties.
Mayor Wanser suffered severely yesterday. No visitors were admitted. He had been restless during Wednesday night and slept but little. The doctors decided to administer an opiate, under the influence of which he slept soundly from five o'clock until far in the night.
Mrs. Wanser, who had been constantly at his bedside, was not there yesterday. It was said she had gone to her home to recuperate.
John J. Nevin, Mayor Wanser's private secretary, in reply to inquiries which I made said:
"I do not believe Mayor Wanser knows I have made public a statement in reference to his marriage. I was impelled to do this for several reasons, the primary one of which was to place matters in their proper light. The Mayor shrinks from publicity. He dreads an interview. When he married, fearing the event might be signalized by a public demonstration or 'hurrah" he chose to have the ceremony performed privately. The fact of his marriage was known to some of his intimate friends, and would have become public property later."
Mrs. Wanser was Miss Abbie L. Mabie, of Milton, Ulster county. She is one of two daughters of Louis Mabie, a fruit farmer, who has a small farm overlooking the Hudson. Mr. Mabie is seventy four years old. When I asked him about his daughter's marriage he said:
"I don't know much about it. They were married five or six years ago in Jersey City, I think. I don't know the name of the minister or the date. Abbie never told me."
The old gentleman was somewhat reticent and referred me to his daughter Sarah, who is about thirty years old.
"My sister Abbie and Colonel Wanser," she said in substance. "were married several years ago. I was not at home at the time and the ceremony was not performed in Milton. I do not know where, nor the name of the minister. I could not tell the date of the marriage or in what city or town it
was performed.
"Yes. my sister has been married before. Her first husband's name was Rickard and they lived
in New York."
When I asked Miss Mabie as to whether Mr. Rickard was dead she declined to say. She also refused to say whether there had been a divorce.
Then she continued:—"Abbie simply told me when I came home that she was married to Mr.
Wanser."
Miss Mabie told me her sister had two children by her first marriage—George Rickard, eighteen
years old, and a daughter somewhat younger.
Miss Mabie declined to say where her sister was stopping in New York.
The Mabie family is well thought of in Milton. The townsfolk know little about Mr. Rickard. Some thought he died some years before Mrs. Rickard was married to Mayor Wanser, other believed there had been a divorce.
Mrs. Wanser has had no children by her second marriage. on 30 June 1893 at New York City, New York.12 
Death*3 March 1898 Lewis Mabie died on 3 March 1898 at Milton, Saratoga County, New York, at age 79.13 
Burial* He and Rebecca J. (?) were buried at United Methodist Church Cemetery, Milton, Ulster County, New York. Inscription "Lewis Mabie; Dec. 16, 1818; Mar. 3, 1898; Rebecca J; wife of Lewis Mabie; Feb. 10, 1823; Oct. 5, 1888."14
