Dr Harsha won wide renown as an organist and has been included in "Who's Who Among the Organists of America." and "Who's Who in the East." She has been featured in the leading magazines, including the official magazine of the American Guild of Organists.
She begn her career while in Charlotte High School here, playing the organ in Lakeside Presbyterian Church. She attended the University of Rochester and was graduated from the Eastman School of Music in 1928. For 10 years she was organist at Central Presbyterian Church.
She was a pupil of Harold Gleason, well known Rochester organist, and substituted for him in playing in the house of George Eastman foe a time.
She did post graduate work at School of Sacred Music of Union Theological Seminary, New York City, and studied further with prominent organists in New York City. In 1942 she received the honorary degree of doctor of music from thr New York College of Music.
She was the organist at the Central Methodist Church in Brooklyn for a time and headed the piano department and taught in the theatrical department of the Earnest Wills School of Music in New York City. She also was featured as a piano soloist with the symphonic band and orchestra of the school and played frequently at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Subsequently she took the post with the Sunset Methodist Church in Brooklyn. Her last position was with the Bushwick Avenue Methodist Church, Brooklyn, where she headed five choirs.
She is survived by her mother, three sisters, Miss Gertrude Mabee and Mrs Helen Babcock of Rochester, and Mrs Clarence Smith of Allegany, NY.
Memorial services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the Fiske & Hardy Funeral Parlors, 105 Lake Avenue, and on Thursday in the Bushwick Avenue Church, Brooklyn. Burial will be in Argyle, NY.17

He was born Sept. 4, 1920, in Oakley the second of eight children of Daniel Leonard and LaVernie Fewkes Mabey. He lived most of his life in Oakley, graduating from Oakley High School in 1939. He filled a two year mission for the LDS Church in the Western States Mission from 1941 to 1943. He married Velma Jean Christensen on April 12, 1952. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on May 24, 1964. Derald farmed with his father and brothers until the fall of 1957, when he injured his back. In May of 1960 he started working at Burley Truck and Tractor as a mechanic until 1976, when he has badly burned and lost the use of his left hand and arm. Following extensive hospitalization and therapy, he recovered some use of his left hand and arm. In March 1979, he began work as a custodian at Mt. View Elementary School in Burley. He retired in March of 1989.
Derald was active in the LDS Church, serving as first counselor of the Cassia Stak MIA, and in the Sunday Shool superintendancy, twice in Marion and also for the Oakley ward. He served in the Burley 9th Ward Sunday School Presidency, the as Sunday School president. He fulfilled a two year stake mission and had been teacher/leader of the seventies quorum, was secretary of the seventies, and was the Burley 9th ward camp director in 1979. Derald enjoyed sports and was a certified volleyball official, and helped his wife with the church sports. After his retirement, he continued to enjoy sports by accompanying his wife.
Survivors include his wife Velma Jean of Burley two sons, Duane and his wife, Kathy of Evergreen, Colo., and Milford and his wife Jenette of Burley; five brothers, Donald and his wife, Barbara of Oakley, Donald and his wife Catherine of Granger, Utah, Paul and his wife, Mae of Oakley, Robert and his wife Marge, of Logan, Utah, and Kent and his wife Janet of Yucaipa, Calif; two sisters, Roxey Mabey White of Bountiful, Utah, and Norma Mabey Rees and her husband Verl of Brier, Wash; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Samuel Derald Mabey.
The funeral will be held ... at the Burley LDS Stake Center ..., with Bishop Kim Hansen officiating. Burial will follow at Gem Memorial Gardens in Burley....13

He was born June 5, 1919, in Oakley, the son of Daniel Leonard and Lavernie Fewkes Mabey. He graduated from the Oakley Academy. He served in the U. S. Navy and received an Honorable Medical Discharge. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Western States Mission, where he met Barbara Jean Petty. They were married on June 10, 1941, in the Salt Lake Temple. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities, and he especially enjoyed working with the youth. He was one of the original members and sang with the Oakley Men's Glee Club, was a charter member of the Oakley Vigilantes, and was President of the Oakley Valley Cattleman's Association. Don was a farmer and rancher all of his life. He loved to raise quality horses and cattle. He enjoyed riding horses and gathering cattle with the Wild Rose Bunch and the Oakley Valley Association. Don enjoyed spending time in the mountains, square dancing, and spending time with his family.Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Oakley; a son and daughter-in-law, Laroy (Donna) Mabey of Oakley; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie (Dave) Mayne of Gypsum, Colorado, and Charie (Ron) Hulse of Idaho Falls; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Mabey of Pocatello; four brothers, Paul Mabey, Charles Mabey, Robert Mabey, and Kent Mabey; two sisters, Roxey White and Norma Rees; eighteen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. Charles was born January 1, 1922 to Daniel L. and LaVerne F. Mabey in Oakley, Idaho. Charles proudly served his country in the armed forces during World War II. Upon returning home from the war, Charles went on to serve two Stake Missions and has since served in many other callings, throughout his life, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Charles married his eternal sweetheart, Catherine Hartley, on August 20, 1965 for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.
Charles is survived by his wife, Catherine; sons, Brian (Linda), Keith, Michael (Sharon), Dennis (Christy), and Gary (Brenda); two daughters, Annette (David) Anderson and Karen (Peter) Kuhn; 29 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister Norma (Verl) Rees, Washington; brothers, Paul (Mae), Idaho; Robert (Marge), Logan; and Kent (Janet), California; many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and Derald; sister, Roxy; and infant daughter.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 25, 2002 at 12:00 Noon at Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City. A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the service.
Although time will heal the pain we feel, you will always be in our hearts and minds.16

She begn her career while in Charlotte High School here, playing the organ in Lakeside Presbyterian Church. She attended the University of Rochester and was graduated from the Eastman School of Music in 1928. For 10 years she was organist at Central Presbyterian Church.
She was a pupil of Harold Gleason, well known Rochester organist, and substituted for him in playing in the house of George Eastman foe a time.
She did post graduate work at School of Sacred Music of Union Theological Seminary, New York City, and studied further with prominent organists in New York City. In 1942 she received the honorary degree of doctor of music from thr New York College of Music.
She was the organist at the Central Methodist Church in Brooklyn for a time and headed the piano department and taught in the theatrical department of the Earnest Wills School of Music in New York City. She also was featured as a piano soloist with the symphonic band and orchestra of the school and played frequently at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Subsequently she took the post with the Sunset Methodist Church in Brooklyn. Her last position was with the Bushwick Avenue Methodist Church, Brooklyn, where she headed five choirs.
She is survived by her mother, three sisters, Miss Gertrude Mabee and Mrs Helen Babcock of Rochester, and Mrs Clarence Smith of Allegany, NY.
Memorial services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the Fiske & Hardy Funeral Parlors, 105 Lake Avenue, and on Thursday in the Bushwick Avenue Church, Brooklyn. Burial will be in Argyle, NY.12

Born in Roxbury, a son of the late William P. and Dorothy (Hadley) Mabie, he spent his youth in Roxbury and Fayville, lived in Framingham for 10 years, Ashland for 45 years before moving to Swansea in 1998. Newell loved to walk and talked to everyone he would meet. He was a kind, sweet and friendly man. Mr. Mabie was proud to be the neighborhood milk man and worked for Deary Brothers in Framingham, MA for 46 years. He is a veteran of The United States Navy and served during World War II. Newell was a devoted husband of 64 years to his beloved wife Mary. He was happiest when he could be out in his yard, working endlessly to care for his lawn and home. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren. Newell is survived by his only son, Dr. Kevin N. Mabie, his daughter-in-law and dear friend, Joan F.(Coogan) Mabie of Swansea, two brothers, Reginald Mabie of Marlboro, William Mabie of Framingham and his two loving grandchildren Kristen N.
