Mabee on 25 September 1933 at Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey; George Mabee died at his home on Van Dam avenue early Saturday morning of a paralytic stroke after being confined two days. He was seventy-nine. Born in West Milford, near Echo Lake, Mr Mabee moved here after the death of his wife, the former Candace Duree Mabee, nearly twenty-five years ago. He had lived in this vicinity all his life. Surviving are three brothers: Daniel of Paterson; Theodore of Wortendyke, and Benjamin of Warwick NY; one sister Mrs Chauncy Sandford of Butler, and three daughters, Mrs Clara Mabee of Butler; Mrs William White of Waterviliet, NY, and Mrs Emma Roy of Morristown. Funeral services will be held tomorrow from the Riverside funeral chapel. Burial will be at the West Milford cemetery. Mr Mabee followed his trade as a carpenter until about ten years ago, when he retired from active work.7 |

Hyland, Mrs Robert Jahn, of Teaneck, and Mrs Newton Smith, of Pompton Plains. Mrs Mabie was a Gold Star mother, having lost a son, Ray, who was killed in action in France in 1918. The interment will be made in Mt Rest cemetery.11 |

Mrs Mabie was sixty-five years old and was the widow of Thomas Mabie, and the daughter of the late George McGee, of Echo Lake. She is survived by five children, Frank and Flora Mabie, Mrs J. Hyland, Mrs Robert Jahn, of Teaneck, and Mrs Newton Smith, of Pompton Plains. Mrs Mabie was a Gold Star mother, having lost a son, Ray, who was killed in action in France in 1918. The interment will be made in Mt Rest cemetery.8 |

(Witness) oObit | 16 September 1932 | Nina Anna Mabee was mentioned in the obituary of Bertrand Cyrus Mabie on 16 September 1932 at Sussex, Sussex County, New Jersey; Bertrand Cyrus Mabie, well known farmer of near Colesville, was found dead in bed at his farm home there early Saturday morning by his hired man, Saul Hotalan. When the hired man arose in the morning to get ready for the milking he called to Mr. Mabie. Calling again and receiving no response he went to his room. He discovered him dead. Neighbors were notified. Coroner George H McCloughan, Jr., of Newton, was called. Death was believed due to heart trouble. Mr Mabie was in his sixtieth year. He was the son of Nicholas A. Mabie and Eliza E. Riggs Mabie. He was a lifelong resident of Wantage Township and was a successful farmer. He was twice married. His second wife, Daisy Maude Conway, died a few years ago. He is survived by his aged mother, who resides with a daughter, Mrs Albert Havens, of Wantage; a young son, Bertrand C. Mabie Jr; one brother, Judson D. Mabie, of Lindhurst, L. I; two sisters, Lela E. Wife of Parker McCoy, of Sussex; and Nina A., wife of Albert Havens, of Wantage. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of the sister, Mrs Parker McCoy, with Rev. W. H. Yarrow, pastor of Colesville Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Deckerville-Union Cemetery.7 |

Mabie, 38, of 58844 Mason St., Mishawaka, was found dead in his parked auto at 3 p.m. Monday just northeast of Ireland and Ironwood Roads. Deputy Coroner Dr. Harry A. Ludwick ruled the death a suicide and said it was due to carbon monoxide poisoning. He also estimated the body had been in the auto for at least two days. Sheriff's deputies said that a hose had been run from the auto's exhaust pipe through a window and into the vehicle. The victim had previously been reported as missing by his family. Born in North Webster Mabie, an accountant, was born Dec 13, 1922, in North Webster. He had lived in this area most of his life. He was married June 30, 1943, in South Bend, to Thelma Nutting, who survives. A June 1953 graduate of Indiana University, he was an Army veteran of world War II and the Korean War, serving during the latter conflict as a Captain in the Finance Corps. Survived by Family Also surviving are his father, Walter K. Mabie, Kokomo, his mother, Mrs. Mary VanCamp, Phoenix, Ariz; two brothers, Ernest Mabie, Mishawaka, and Eugene Mabie, Bedford; five half-brothers, Charles, Ronald, Roland, Joseph, and William VanCamp, all of Phoenix, and four half-sisters, Mrs. Bernice VanCamp, and Mrs. Bernita Barker, both of Phoenix, and Mrs. Ester Furguson and Mrs. Freda Lewis, both of Kokomo. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Orvis Funeral Home. Services will be held there at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. William Neece, pastor of the First Church of God, Mishawaka, will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.6 | |

Mr. Mabie was a supervisor at Freight Trucking and had worked for Tucker Freight Lines, south Bend, for 25 years as a supervisor.8 |
