He was an Army veteran of World War II serving with the 826th Aviation Engineer Battalion in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland and Central Europe. Mr. Mabey was a truck driver for several freight companies in the Springfield and Athol areas, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Orange American Legion Post No. 172, and the Last Man's Club. He was also a member of the Roy L. Boyce Post No. 650, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Athol and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 404. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main St., Athol. Burial will be in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield. A calling hour is 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. tomorrow in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 7 Oak Street, Worcester 01609.5 |

He was a specialist in estate planning and had previously been employed with the law firm of Norman and Billick for most of his legal career... He was born Jan 2, 1917 in Chicago, the son of Christian and Cornelia Mabee Lauritzen. He married Cynthia Corning Dec 2 1955. She preceded him in death by exactly one week. Mr Lauritzen graduated from the Chicago Latin School for Boys in 1936. In 1940 he was graduated cum laude from Harvard university, and from its law school in 1943. He is survived by his mother, Mrs Cornelia Lauritzen of Chicago. Graveside services were held Wednesday in Oak Hill cemetery.7 |

She served in many church callings, including Ward Primary President, Stake Primary Presidency, and Stake Relief Society President. She spent many years as Stake Director of the Family Records Extraction Program. She served in the Salt Lake Temple and Bountiful Temple for ten years. Widowed at age forty-three, she raised seven children. She worked for Bountiful State Bank, Zions Bank, and Bountiful City. Her hands were never idle and she always had a project going. Weddings and babies made her happy and there was always a handmade gift. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walker, and leaves behind a caring family. Children-Margaret (Jaren) Vowles, Kent (Joyce) Mabey, Thomas (Diane) Mabey, Ruth (Ronald) Wise, Fred (Jeri) Mabey, Clark (Annette) Mabey, and Scott Mabey. She had thirty-six grandchildren and seventy-seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Florence Britsch, Alice Braithwaite, Beth Snow, Burton Todd, Elaine Page, Ira Todd, and Robert Todd, and survived by her brother, Byron Todd of Norcross, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 in the Bountiful Tabernacle, 51 South Main Street. Friends and family may call on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, and prior to the services at the church on Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m.4 |

He is survived by wife, Rosemary; sisters, Ella, Callie, Ramona, and Ilene; daughters, Chonna, Christa, and Jeni; and grandchildren, Christapher, Terra, Patrick, Tyler, Chance, Kimberly, McQuenzie, and Trevor. There will be a viewing from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday May 9, 2011 at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S Redwood Rd. Funeral services will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Mortuary, with a viewing one hour prior to services. We are going to miss his big heart and wealth of knowledge.9 |
