While residing in Peru, he was employed as a switchman for the Rock Island railroad and in Ottawa, was employed in a similar capacity until his retirement on pension just two months ago. Surviving are the widow, two step-sons, Harry and Leo, and four daughters, Margaret, a student nurse at Ryburn-King hospital, Ottawa, Irene, a student at Illinois Normal University, Normal, Betty and Patricia, at home.
