Mr. Van De Warker, a brother of Mrs. Olive Behrens, La Salle, and Mrs. Winifred Witt, Peru, had been a dinner guest at the Piercy farm home eight miles north of Utica at noon Wednesday. He was accompanied to the farm by his wife.
After the meal, Mr. Van De Warker accompanied Mr. Piercy and his sons, George and Myles, as they drove a wagon into a field to load hay, it was said. Mr. Van De Warker returned to the farm residence.
A telephone call had meanwhile been made to summon a Utica physician but upon the latter's arrival, Mr. Van De Warker was pronounced dead.
Mr. Van De Warker was born in Lockport, Ill., on May 2, 1876. As a young man, he came to the La Salle-Peru community, residing in the latter city for the greater part of the time until he moved to Ottawa about 25 years ago. While residing in Peru, he was employed as a switchman for the Rock Island railroad and in Ottawa, was employed in a similar capacity until his retirement on pension just two months ago.
Surviving are the widow, two step-sons, Harry and Leo, and four daughters, Margaret, a student nurse at Ryburn-King hospital, Ottawa, Irene, a student at Illinois Normal University, Normal, Betty and Patricia, at home. One brother, Victor, of Chicago, and three sisters, Mrs. Olive Behrens, La Salle, Mrs. Estella Shinske, of Savanna, Ill., and Mrs. Winifired Witt, Peru, also survive.
Funeral services are to be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the family home. 1513 Columbus Street, Ottawa. Burial will be made in an Ottawa cemetery.6

Leo died of lung cancer.5

He was preceded in death by one brother and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Van De Warker lived in Streator and Ottawa areas most of his life. From 1967 until 1980, he lived in Florida. He was a former owner and operator of Reliable Rug Cleaners. He was a member and past master of the Streator Masonic Lodge and former member of the Illinois National Guard.
Leo died of lung cancer.6

Piercy farm in Waltham township, William Van De Warker, 62, of Ottawa, for many years a resident of Peru and La Salle, died suddenly about 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
A verdict of death due to apoplexy was returned by a coroner's jury Wednesday evening at the Gladfelter funeral chapel, Ottawa.
Mr. Van De Warker, a brother of Mrs. Olive Behrens, La Salle, and Mrs. Winifred Witt, Peru, had been a dinner guest at the Piercy farm home eight miles north of Utica at noon Wednesday. He was accompanied to the farm by his wife.
After the meal, Mr. Van De Warker accompanied Mr. Piercy and his sons, George and Myles, as they drove a wagon into a field to load hay, it was said. Mr. Van De Warker returned to the farm residence.
A telephone call had meanwhile been made to summon a Utica physician but upon the latter's arrival, Mr. Van De Warker was pronounced dead.
Mr. Van De Warker was born in Lockport, Ill., on May 2, 1876. As a young man, he came to the La Salle-Peru community, residing in the latter city for the greater part of the time until he moved to Ottawa about 25 years ago. While residing in Peru, he was employed as a switchman for the Rock Island railroad and in Ottawa, was employed in a similar capacity until his retirement on pension just two months ago.
Surviving are the widow, two step-sons, Harry and Leo, and four daughters, Margaret, a student nurse at Ryburn-King hospital, Ottawa, Irene, a student at Illinois Normal University, Normal, Betty and Patricia, at home. One brother, Victor, of Chicago, and three sisters, Mrs. Olive Behrens, La Salle, Mrs. Estella Shinske, of Savanna, Ill., and Mrs. Winifired Witt, Peru, also survive.
Funeral services are to be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the family home. 1513 Columbus Street, Ottawa. Burial will be made in an Ottawa cemetery.5

Elizabeth Oansworth, maid of honor, carried a similar bouquet. The bridesmaid wore an ankle
length pink organdie gown. Joyce Kocsis, flower girl, was garbed in similar material. Mr. Gansworth was best man.
The Rev. Emery Kocsls, pastor of the Tuscarora Baptist church, officiated at the single ring ceremony.
Following the ceremony, covers were laid for a wedding supper at a u-shaped table on the church lawn serving 110 guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnson will be at home after August 10 at the Johnson residence. Mt. Hope road. Lewiston. Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Maybee, of Iroquois."2

Mabee, Albany, were married Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock in the manse of the Trinity Reformed Church. The Rev. Walter S. Maines, pastor of the Church, performed the ceremony.
The bride was attired in a green ensemble, with brown accessories, and wore a shoulder corsage of Johanna Hill roses and Sweetheart buds. Miss Lois Graham, Utica, who was bridesmaid, wore a brown ensemble, with matching accessories, and a shoulder corsage of Talisman roses.
Raynold Deuel, Jr., Schenectady, a brother of the bride, was best man. The bride's gift to her attendant was a gold lavalier and chain, while the best man received a gold necktie set.
Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Mabee left for a wedding trip to the northern lakes. They will be at home to their many friends in an apartment at 218 Clizbe Avenue upon their return."1

oObit*14 March 1890  On 14 March 1890 at Mount Kisco, New York, Charles's obituary read: Died at his late residence on Maple avenue in this village, on Saturday , March 1st, Charles Van Tassel, in the 81st year of his age. Mr. Van Tassel was almost a life-long resident of the town of New Castle, where he was born January 16th, 1810, of Quaker parents, Robert Van Tassel and Susannah Wright , both, with their respective ancestors, being among the first settlers of the town. The Van Tassel homestead, is about a mile and a half west of this village. There the deceased was born. He was the eighth of thirteen children, all of whom are now dead except Wright and Robert .
When deceased arrived at the age of 23 years, he married his cousin Emeline Mabee, daughter of Aaron Mabee, of the same town. They started out in marriage life on a farm in the town of Bedford, where they resided a few years , and then they removed to Sparta, near Sing Sing, where they lived on and cultivated .Ex-Judge Kimis's farm.1
