Mr. John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He owned and operated APJ Industries in Salamanca, for over 10 years. He also had worked in the construction trade.
Mr. John was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Wolf Clan. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, bowling, lacrosse, football and his pets, Maxzi and Reoh.
Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca (Mitch) Berger of California, Angela John of Salamanca; a son, Kyle John of Salamanca; four grandchildren, Travis Berger, Tyler Siperek, Ashlee Siperek, Delaney Berger; four sisters, Joyce Huff of Salamanca, Kathy John of Great Valley, Nancy Frank of Steamburg, Patricia John of Salamanca; three brothers, Bradley John, Gerald John, both of Salamanca, Marc John of Steamburg and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, James Snyder and a nephew, Christopher Maybee.
Friends called on Sunday at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St. in Salamanca.
Funeral services were held this afternoon in the Funeral Home, with Brandon Crouse officiating.2

Coroner Bourne revealed this afternoon. The coroner said that Arthur Maybee, 21, at a local hospital admitted having drank a quart. Lawrence Cowper, 23, was found dead in Maybee's house, a victim of the stuff, the coroner said, who ascribed the recent deaths of Bert Half white and Robert Curry, to the same cause. A woman was reported the victim of poison alcohol. on 3 January 1931 at Salamanca, Cattaraugus County, New York.11

Surviving are his parents, Daniel Maybee and Rita Brooks; a sister, Lisa Maybee; three brothers, Kevin Brooks, Chris Maybee and Bert Longboat Jr.
Arrangements were by the Wentland Funeral Home, North Collins.3

Funeral services were held from Ober funeral Home in Reynoldsville, on Saturday March 24, 2 p.m. with the Rev. Williams Hills officiating. Interment was in Meade Chapel Cemetery.3
