oObit20 March 2018  On 20 March 2018 at Pocatello, Bannock County, Idaho, the obituary of Christopher Jason Mabey read: Christopher Jason Mabey March 19, 1972 - March 16, 2018 Christopher Jason Mabey, loving son, big brother, favorite uncle, and amazing friend passed suddenly from this world on March 16, 2018. Jason was taken from us far too soon, weakened by health issues. Words cannot describe this gentle soul. Jason was a friend to all, and without seeking acknowledgment helped so many. He was boisterous and fun, quiet and unassuming, generous and kind, opinionated and stubborn - occasionally all at once. He lived his life boldly, and outside the box - he did things his way, and enjoyed all that life has to offer in the process. Jason loved to cook gourmet meals for his family, and took great joy in feeding everyone whether at a holiday gathering, camping, or just an evening game night. No matter who walked through the door at mealtime, he always greeted them with, "if you're going to be with us, you gotta eat like a Mabey." He loved his family, and took great joy in razzing everyone; especially his nieces and nephews. Nicknames, smart-ass comments, jokes and hugs were constant and heart-felt. Jason was born May 19, 1972 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Christopher and Diane Mabey. He was the oldest of three brothers, and took this role seriously - he was the rock of the family; always willing to provide advice and comfort. He graduated from North Gem High School in 1989, and attended Idaho State University. In life, Jason made a reputation for himself as a phenomenal IT guru, and provided service for companies in California, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Idaho. This career allowed Jason to travel and live in several different states; but also allowed him the flexibility to return home often to be with family. He thoroughly enjoyed the many cities he lived in, and the adventure they provided. Jason never married, but he had many "kids". Over the years, he filled his home with Giant Schnauzers, shelter animals, and exotic pets. His pets were his life, and most of the "toys" Jason purchased were meant to provide comfort for his kids…his camper, truck, and home were more for the boys (and Lola girl) than for himself. He was passionate about his cars, and they were often the fastest production models available. He also had plans to restore his old Ford (Shrek). Speed and horsepower matched the character of a man who chose to be unconventional and Jason took pride in these machines - his cars weren't Sunday drivers, they were tear up the road statements. Jason is survived by his Mom and Dad, Diane and Christopher Mabey; brother Brandon and Tina Mabey, brother Sheldon and Vangee Mabey, his "kids" Diesel, Lloyd, and Lola, and a multitude of family and friends who will forever miss him. He is preceded in death by (Grandpa) Keith Mabey, (Grandma) Madeline Mabey, (Grandpa) Horace Delbridge and (Grandma) Gladys Delbridge, (Uncles) Edward "Stan" Delbridge, Sterling Delbridge, and (Aunt) Janice Wurzel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 23 at 12 noon in the Bancroft LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services at the church. Jason will be interned at the Chesterfield Cemetery. Condolences and memories maybe shared with the family by visiting www.simsfh.com Jason taught us to live large, love completely, and to never waiver; he showed us how to be true to ourselves and how to enjoy life. He has left us too early, and with too many memories that we haven't yet made. 'Till we meet again son, brother, uncle, and friend….1
Burial* He was buried at Chesterfield Cemetery, Bancroft, Caribou County, Idaho.1
