Marriage*1896 She married Peter Baldwin Dykeman, son of James B. Dykeman and Ruth Ann Mabie, in 1896.1
(Mentioned) oObit26 April 1951 Mollie Edith Alley was mentioned in the obituary of of Peter Baldwin Dykeman on 26 April 1951 at Carmel, Putnam County, New York; Peter Baldwin Dykeman, last surviving of eight children of the late James B. and Ruth Ann (Mabie) Dykeman, died at his home in Riverton, Wyoming, on April 19, 1951, at the age of 82.
Mr. Dykeman will be remembered by some of the older residents of this village as a brother of the late Mrs. Charles E. Nichols and Mrs. Charles B. Travis of Carmel and of the late Willard J. Dykeman of Tilly Foster and Asheville.
He was born on a farm near Carmel July 20, 1868, attended the local schools of the community and for several years was employed in a store in Carmel. In early young manhood he went West and became associated with the Anaconda Copper Mining Company at Butte, Montana, later rising to the position of Chief Clerk in their main office in Chicago.
Leaving the Anaconda company around 1905 and after a year or so of extensive travel in this country, Canada and Mexico, he settled in Central Wyoming taking up a 160 acre homestead there near what is now the thriving town of Riverton. For some years thereafter his 160 acre alfalfa farm was one of the show places of that locality.
Giving up active farming some 15 years later, he became active in banking, hotel, power and coal and oil interests. He built and operated the local electric power plant at Riverton for a number of years and was active in real estate at the time of his death.
Mr. Dykeman was a man of sterling character, always ready to give a helping hand to those in need. He gave his efforts unstintingly over many, years to the development of his town and community.
In 1896 Mr. Dykeman was united in marriage with Miss Mollie Edith Alley of Afton, Iowa, and to this union one child was, born, Ruth, now Mrs. Arthur Ward of Riverton. FUNERAL HELD ON TUESDAY
Life-long Resident of Patterson Succumbs Following Illness of Several Weeks.
The death of Mrs. Hattie Germond Hayt, aged 73, beloved wife of Edgar F. Hayt, of the Big Elm district in Patterson, and mother of Frank Hayt, clerk of the board of supervisors, occurred on Sunday morning, Nov. 8, 1936, at her home, following an illness of several weeks. Stricken suddenly with a cerebral hemorrhage, it was thought by the family and physicians that perhaps she might overcome her illness but as the days wore on it became apparent to all that the end was approaching slowly, but until late last week hope was sustained. Mrs. Hayt was born in Patterson on October 8, 1873, the daughter of Ezeck and Caroline Mabie Germond, and spent her girlhood and young womanhood in Patterson. Later upon returning from Teachers College at Albany she became the assistant teacher in Patterson Public School, and many of her pupils who are now leading men and women in Putnam County testify of their love for one whose early example and teachings have been a guiding star throughout the years. On September 6, 1893, she became the wife of Edgar F. Hayt, of the Big Elm district, and shortly after they moved to the old Hayt homestead where they have lived throughout the many years. This home is known throughout a wide area for the hospitality and Christian spirit which has always prevailed. Surviving are her husband, three sons, Harold, Frank and Elmer, and one daughter, Mrs. Mary Hughes, and one grandchild. Services were largely attended at the Four Corners Baptist Church on Tuesday afternoon. The former pastor, Rev. J. Peters, officiated. Interment was in Milltown Rural Cemetery.5
Burial* She and Edgar F Hayt were buried at Milltown Cemetery, Brewster, Putnam County, New York.6
