- Mrs. Sarah M. Mabee, wife of Martin Mabee, died at her home in Lafayette, Wed. of the past week from a complication of diseases at the age of 69. A son and a daughter, Frank Mabee and Miss Clara Mabee survive her. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at her late home. Interment was made in North Church. The death of Mrs. Martin B. Mabee, occured on Wednesday evening last at her home, after being in ill health for several yeas. Mrs. Mabee was 69 years and 22 days old and was the daughter of the late Lewis and Ketmah Roe, and was born at Harmony Vale, where she spent nearly all her life, only since residing in Lafayette. She had been a member of the Methodist Church most all her life and for years a member of the Ladies Aid, which remembered her with a beautiful floral piece. She is survived by her husband and by one son Frank of this town, and by one daughter, Clara, at home, and by two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Mabee of Newton and Mrs. John Wickham of Beaver run, and by one brother, Charles Roe, of Harmony Vale, and by five grandchildren. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon at her home. Rev. Harry and Rev. T. Marvin officiated. The carriers were: John D. Ackerson, R.J. Blauvelt, C.E. Mackerly, Peter Simmons, G.E.Ingersoll and R.E. Everett. Internment at the North Church cemetery."

- Newton – From the effects of injuries sustained when the rural delivery mail automobile he was driving was struck by a train near Sparta December 2, Frank A. Mabee of Lafayette, near here died in the Stroudsburg (Pa) Hospital Saturday afternoon. He sustained a fracture of the skull and internal injuries.
Mabee had been a mail carrier in that section fifteen years. He was forty-eight years old and is survived by his wife and five children, his father, Martin B. Mabee, and a sister, Clara Mabee, all of Lafayette. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at the house, with interment in Newton Cemetery.
