- Floyd H Mabee died Saturday, May 10, 2003, at Regional Medical Center in Bayonet Point, Fla. He was 82.
Born in Lafayette, he retired from Picatinny Arsenal as chief of police in 1975.
Mr Mabee was a veteran of World War II where he attained the rank of master sergeant in the Army Air Corps. He was the recipient of two Distinguished Flying Crosses, a Purple Heart, and an Air Medals, with One Silver and Two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters. He was former vice president of the 93rd Bomb Group, Second Air Division, a charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3401 in Morris Plains, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2833 in Kenvil, the NRA, FOP Lodge 18, Acacia Masonic Lodge, and NARFE Chapter 424.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; his son, Harold of Mount Arlington; his brother Martin of Lafayette; his sister, Mary Bowman of Silver Springs, Fla; his grand children, Deana M Glory of Independence, and Brian of Somerset; and his one great-grandchild, Matthew Glory.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 7, at 3 p.m. at the Wharton United Presbyterian Church where he was a member.

- Harold F Mabee, 65, of Mount Arlington died on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Saint Clare's Hospital in Denville. He was born and raised in Dover and lived in Mount Arlington for 35 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in the 1st Calvary Division and earned two Bronze Stars and many other medals. He earned his bachelor of science degree from Lincoln Memorial University and his master's degree in biology from East Tennessee State University.
He was a microbiologist and chemist of perfumes at Disperse Technologies in Paramus before retiring in 2007.
He was a devoted member and Past Commander of the Kenvil V F W Post 2833 and was the current District 10 Commander of the State of N J. He was also a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America.
He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, camping, and canoeing, and was a member of the Knee Deep Club and enjoyed fishing on Lake Hopatcong.
He was a loving family man who cherished his wife and children. He gave much of his life to his community and charitable organizations and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Susan A. Nesbihal, of 43 years, son Brian Mabee of New York City, daughter Deanna and her husband Christopher Glory of Independence Township. He also leaves his mother Dorothy Mabee of Port Richey, Fla., and grandson Matthew Glory of Independence Township.
Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, at the funeral home with the interment to follow at the Good Shepherd Cemetery in Andover.
