- Irene E. (Ferragamo) Mabie, 84, of Framingham, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at the MetroWest Hospital in Natick She was the wife of William P. Mabie for 45 years. Born in Framingham, daughter of the late Carlos and Elisandrina (Chiricuzzo) Ferragamo, she was formerly employed at Dennison Manufacturing Company for more than 40 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, William R. Mabie and his wife, Joann, of Natick, and Ronald J. Ferragamo and his wife, Andy, of Framingham; one sister, Theresa Pierozzi of Maynard; three grandchildren, Cody Mabie, Justin Mabie and Troy Ferragamo; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Polly Ferragamo, Antoinette Sullivan and Henry Ferragamo. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 9 a.m., at St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford St., Natick. Burial will follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham. Calling hours at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home will be Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. Instead of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham.

- Newell I. Mabie, age 93, of Swansea, MA, formerly of Ashland, MA died May 9, 2010 in the loving presence of his family at Somerset Ridge Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Mary J (Hatch) Mabie. Born in Roxbury, a son of the late William P. and Dorothy (Hadley) Mabie, he spent his youth in Roxbury and Fayville, lived in Framingham for 10 years, Ashland for 45 years before moving to Swansea in 1998. Newell loved to walk and talked to everyone he would meet. He was a kind, sweet and friendly man. Mr. Mabie was proud to be the neighborhood milk man and worked for Deary Brothers in Framingham, MA for 46 years. He is a veteran of The United States Navy and served during World War II. Newell was a devoted husband of 64 years to his beloved wife Mary. He was happiest when he could be out in his yard, working endlessly to care for his lawn and home. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren. Newell is survived by his only son, Dr. Kevin N. Mabie, his daughter-in-law and dear friend, Joan F.(Coogan) Mabie of Swansea, two brothers, Reginald Mabie of Marlboro, William Mabie of Framingham and his two loving grandchildren Kristen N. - William P. Mabie Jr., 91, of Framingham, died on Tuesday October 2, 2012. Born in Boston, son of the late William P. and Dorothy (Hadley) Mabie, he was the husband of Irene E. (Ferragamo) Mabie, who died in February of 2008. He had been a resident of Framingham for over sixty years and served during World War II with the U. S. Coast Guard and participated in the Occupation of Yokohama, Japan. He was awarded several honorable discharge emblems and ribbons; including the Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign Ribbon (2 Bronze Stars), the American Area Campaign Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. He was employed at the Dennison Mfg. Company in Framingham for over 40 years, mostly in their Copier Division. A longtime member and Past Post Commander of the American Legion James J. McGrath Post #74 in Framingham and member of the V.F.W, he was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. However, the greatest love and joy in his life were his grandchildren. He is survived by 2 sons, William R. Mabie and his wife Joann of Natick, Ronald Ferragamo and his wife Andy of York Beach, Maine; 1 brother, Reginald "Bud" Mabie of Marlborough; 3 grandchildren Cody and Justin Mabie and Troy Ferragamo and 1 great-grandson. He was brother of the late Newell Mabie and Dorothy Hadley Bonina. A funeral service will take place on Saturday morning October 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street, Framingham. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Saturday morning prior to the funeral service from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will take place in Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham.
