I, Thomas Ward of the Town of Sarnia in the County of Lambton, Sherriff's Bailiff, make oath and say;
1) That I did on the twenty fifth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy, personally served Elizabeth Mowbray with a true copy of the hereunto annexed citation by delivering and leaving the said copy with the said Elizabeth Mowbray at her residence in the Township of Sombra.
2) That I necessarily traveled nineteen miles to make such service.

County of Hastings United Kingdom of Great Britain
and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith
To Wit
To Martha Maybee, widow and Julianne Coleman, wife of Abel Coleman, both of the village of Colborne, Allen T Maybee of the Town of Belleville, and Alfred Maybee of the Village of Warkworth, John W Maybee of South Haven, in the State of Michigan in the United States of America and Elizabeth Mowbray of the Township of Sombra in the County of Lambton and all or any of the next of kin of said John Way Maybee deceased.
Whereas Albert Lewis Smith of the Town of Belleville in the County of Hastings Esquire, a creditor of said deceased by petition to said Court set forth that the said deceased died at Belleville in said County Intestate, that he is a creditor of said deceased by virtue of a certain judgement resolved in her Majesty's Court of Queens Bench at Toronto wherein one John O'Hare now deceased was plaintiff and one Alfred Maybee and the said deceased were defendants for the sum of one hundred and twelve pounds eleven shillings and six pence damages and costs, and said petitioner is desirous of obtaining limited administration of the personal estate and effects of said deceased that he may be able to realize the amount of the said judgement out of the real estate of the said deceased.
You are hereby cited to come before the Surrogate Court of the County of Hastings and administer to the personal estate and effects of said deceased, or that you appear before the Honorable George Sherwood, Judge of said Court at his chambers n the Court House in Belleville on Monday the twenty fifth day of April AD1870 at ten o'clock in the fore noon to see and examine the proceedings and show cause if any you have why the administration of the personal estate and effects, rights and credits of the said deceased should not be granted to the said Albert Lewis Smith.
Witness the Honorable George Sherwood, Judge of said Surrogate at Belleville this fifteenth day of March AD 1870.
