- Kenneth W. Mabee, 84, of Yorkwood Road, Mansfield, died Monday morning December 24, 2001 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a long illness.
He was born May 29, 1917 in Tiro to Vere and Lila (Wiley) Mabee, was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1935 and attended both The Ohio State University and Ohio Northern University. He started his business career as a sales representative for the Tappan Stove Company.
A World War II Navy veteran, Kenneth served on a PT Boat in the Pacific Theater. Following his discharge, he resumed his sales career, serving as Vice President of Sales for several companies including Philco, Sylvania, McGregor Sporting Goods and Dominion Electric.
He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served the congregation as an elder. He organized and was a charter member of several groups in the early movement to aid the mentally retarded, and was always involved in community and civic affairs.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Doris (Goodenough) Mabee, whom he married May 17, 1941; three sons and two daughters-in-law Douglas Mabee of Mansfield, Richard A. & Sharon Mabee of Greenwich and Stephen & Dianna Mabee of Ocala, FL; four grandchildren Stephen, Kenneth and Dyanna Mabee all of Ocala, FL and Jeanette Mabee of Greenwich; and a brother and sister-in-law Robert E. & Charlotte Mabee of Mansfield.
A memorial service will be held Thursday December 27, 2001 at 11 am in First Presbyterian Church, 399 South Trimble Road, Mansfield. The Rev. Dennis Allison will officiate. Friends may call in the parlor of the church during the hour prior to the service. The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

- Doris G. Mabee, age 91, of Mansfield passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 1, 2010 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born June 8, 1918 in Toledo to Walter and Mary Goodenough and came to Mansfield and shortly thereafter graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1935. She attended DePauw University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.
On May 17, 1941 she married Kenneth W. Mabee who preceded her in death. His work took them to 16 different cities before returning to Mansfield in 1977.
She was an active church member wherever they lived, holding many offices and filling roles in leadership. Here in Mansfield she was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder.
She helped organize and was a charter member of several groups in the early movement to aid the mentally retarded, and served on the Board of the Ohio Association for Retarded Children and Adults. Doris was always active in community and civic affairs.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law Douglas Mabee of Mansfield, Richard A. and Sharon Mabee of Mansfield, and Stephen and Dianna Mabee of Ocala, Florida, four grandchildren Steven Mabee of Orlando, Florida, Kenneth Mabee of Ocala, Florida, Dihanna Mabee of Denver, Colorado, Jeanette and Michael Urbanof Ashtabula, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert E. and Charlotte Mabee of Mansfield, and nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11 am in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 399 South Trimble Road, Mansfield. Friends may call immediately prior to the service. The Rev. Dennis R. Allison will officiate. The Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial contributions to First Presbyterian Church may be made at the service or through the funeral home

- Kenneth Douglas “Doug” Mabee passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023 in OhioHealth Mansfield. He was 79.
He was born September 6, 1943 in Mansfield to parents Kenneth W. and Doris J. (Goodenough) Mabee.
Doug enjoyed watching old westerns like Bonanza and anything with John Wayne. He also enjoyed listening to old gospel hymns. He attended Mansfield 1st EPC and loved his church. Doug was a big coffee drinker and loved spending time with his family. But above all else, he loved his Ohio State Football. He was an avid fan and would never miss a game.
He is survived by his brothers Rick & Sharon Mabee and Steve & Diane Mabee; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family; the staff members of Richland Newhope Residential Department and RNI Inc.; special friend Mr. and Mrs. Norman Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, special aunt and uncle Bob & Char Mabee and cousin Bobby Mabee.
Calling hours will take place Monday, May 8, 2023 in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. with a funeral service starting promptly at 12 p.m. All guests are encouraged to wear their Ohio State gear as it is what Doug would have wanted. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
