- Funeral services for Gerald "Jerry" C. Mabie. 76. of 346 E. Bank St., will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Church Peace. The Rev. Martin Koehler and the Rev. James Klein will officiate. Burial will be at Estabrooks Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and from 10 a.m. to the time of services Tuesday at the church. Mr. Mabie died Friday, April 3, 1992, at St. Agnes Hospital, following a short illness. He was born Aug. 30, 1915, in Cerro Gordo County, Mason City, Iowa, a son of Clarence and Mabel Parker Mabie. On Aug. 24, 1940, he married Florence R. Streeter at Church of Peace. Mr. Mabie was a graduate of the Goodrich High School Class of 1934. He was a member of Church of Peace. In 1990. he and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He was employed at Le May Garage, Lyle Berenz Modem Service, Wayne Motors and was service manager at Henkel Motors for 30 years. He retired in 1983. Following retirement, Mr. Mabie was a security officer for Bums Security at Mercury Marine until his death. He was appointed harbor master for the City and the County of Fond du Lac in 1954, doing rescue work on Lake Winnebago. He was a 50-year member of the Fond du Lac Yacht Club and served as a board member from 1960 to 1975. In January of 1992, he was made a life member of the club. Mr. Mabie also was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 4-1 and served as its first commander. He was secretary and treasurer for Boathouses Inc. In addition, he was a Fond du Lac County deputy sheriff for many years and was a member of the Wisconsin Deputy Association. In 1988, he was recognized by the Noon Optimist Club for promoting safety on Lake Winnebago. In 1989, he was honored by the Fond du Lac Area Safety Council with the Good Samaritan Award for Boating Safety. Mr. Mabie also was a member of the Fond du Lac Boating Club, Eagles Club Aerie No. 270, Traveler's Protective Association and American Association of Retired Persons. He and his wife were Walleye Weekend volunteer Coast Guard boat inspectors. Survivors include his wife; two brothers-in-law, Mel Streeter and his wife Shirley of Fond du Lac, and Gene Streeter of Santa Barbara, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Joyce Frank and her husband Richard of Fond du Lac; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

- Florence R. "Flossie" Mabie, 89, formerly of 220 Southlake Drive, and currently a resident of the Woodlands Senior Center, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at her residence. She was born May 31, 1919, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Clarence and Lillian Toll Streeter. She was a graduate of Goodrich High School, Class of 1936. On Aug. 24, 1940, she married Gerald C. Mabie at Church of Peace in Fond du Lac. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 1990.Mrs. Mabie was a lifetime member of the Church of Peace. She was a lifetime member of the Fond du Lac Yacht Club, the Nauti-Gals, and very active in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 4-1, having served different offices, past Vice Flotilla Commander, treasurer, public relations officer, and she taught water safety to school children. She worked many years on Walleye Weekend, attending to the radios for the Coast Guard. Mrs. Mabie and her husband, Gerald, did rescue work on the south end of Lake Winnebago for many years. Mrs. Mabie worked at Wisconsin Telephone Company, 45 Sheboygan St., Wayne Motors, Star Plumbing & Heating Company, and the Boy Scouts of America, Bay Lakes Council. Surviving is a brother, Mel (Shirley) Streeter of Fond du Lac; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Her parents; her husband, Gerald on April 3, 1992; two brothers, Alvin and Eugene Streeter; a sister, Joyce Frank; and two nephews preceded her in death....
