- Mattie Janey Mabie, was born April 22, 1887, at Iola, Kansas and departed this life August 1, 1917, at her home in Humboldt, Kansas, aged 30 years, 3 months and 9 days.
Miss Mabie has been a resident of Humboldt for 19 years. She has been a patient sufferer of paralysis since the age of 3 years. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Sarah Mabie, who has given her constant loving care during the years of her affliction; also one sister, Miss Maude Mabie and one brother, J. A. Mabie, her father having died January 29, 1891, at Texarkana, Arkansas, and one sister, Millie Mabie, died at Iola, Kansas, Feb. 18, 1886, and is buried in Iola cemetery, where the remains of Miss Mabie were laid to rest. Her relatives and friends will miss one who was as lovable, sweet and patient to all who knew her....
