- Richard S Mabee of 142 E Emerson St, Melrose, Mass, died yesterday at Melrose Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Paterson, Mr Mabee graduated from Central High School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a research physicist at Bedford Air Force Base and was the Author of many technical papers. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his widow, the former Blanche Lavos; a son, Robert Jr, a Student at MIT; a daughter, Janet, a student at Pembroke College; his father, Winfred of Totowa; and a brother Dr John R of Little Falls.
Funeral and interment will be in Melrose, Mass, from the Marston Funeral Home on Saturday.

- Winfred S Mabee, 91, died Thursday in Greater Paterson General Hospital, Wayne.
Mr Mabee was born in Tarrytown, NY, and lived in Paterson and 55 years in Totowa before moving to Little Falls four years ago. He was a 1908 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Columbia University. He taught in the Paterson school system 42 years, serving as mathematics department head at Central High School.
Mr Mabee was a member of the New Jersey Educators Association and the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Inc. He belonged to the United Methodist Church of Totowa 59 years and was active in its Sunday school and a member of its official board and board of trustees.
His wife, the former Daisy Ball, died in 1963 and three sons preceded him, Robert in 1841, Richard in 1969, and Dr John R in 1970.
He is survived by a daughter Mrs John (Daisy) Gilmore of Harvard, Mass; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Mrs John (Eva) Mabee of Little Falls, and Mrs Richard (Blanche) Mabee of Melrose, Mass.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the United Methodist Church. Moore's Home for Funerals, Paterson has charge of arrangements.
