- Ernest C. Maby, 85, formerly of 6 Rudolph Ave. in Kittery, died on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at the Mark H. Wentworth Home in Portsmouth, N.H. He was born on May 21, 1919 in Kittery, the son of Edward G. and Marion (Milliken) Maby, and attended local schools, graduating from R.W. Traip Academy with the class of 1936. Directly following graduation, he entered the apprenticeship program at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where he served 37 years as an electrical engineer before his retirement in 1974. In 1946, he married his loving wife of 54 years, Judith (Halliday) Maby; together they made their home in Kittery until her death in 2000. He was very active in his community serving on the budget and finance committee, school board, assessment review board and served as a town councilor. He enjoyed photography. Processing his work in his dark room at home was a favorite past time. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Portsmouth. He is survived by one son, Edward Maby of Redondo Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mildred Cushman of Cape Elizabeth, and Elizabeth Rainier and her husband Andy of Kittery; two brothers, Edward and his wife Ruth Maby of Kittery and Earl Maby of Monson, Mass.; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife in 2000. A funeral was celebrated on Saturday at his church, St. John's Episcopal Church in Portsmouth, with burial to follow in Orchard Grove Cemetery in Kittery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Rice Public Library, 8 Wentworth St. in Kittery, ME 03904. Arrangements are entrusted to the J.S Pelkey Funeral Home of Kittery.

- Ruth C. Maby, 93, of Eliot Road, Kittery, Maine, died on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at her home. Born in Franklin, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Kenneth H. and Marion Catherine (Oldhan) Callahan.
Ruth moved with her family in the third grade to Portsmouth where they lived for a short time before settling in Kittery Point, where she would finish school graduating with the class of 1941 from RW Traip Academy.
While in high school she met Edward Maby and in 1946 they would begin their over seventy year marriage. They built their home on Eliot Road in 1947 and began a family. Early in life she'd enjoyed time as a Brownie leader and Girl Scout leader for both the junior and senior scouts.
Ruth worked as a book keeper privately and at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as well as working at a local bank as a transit operator. She was a parishioner at St. Marks United Methodist Church in Kittery.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband Edward Maby of Kittery; daughter Fran Heath of Concord, N.H. and granddaughter Courtney Heath of Concord, N.H.; grandson Ryan Heath of Nashua, N.H. and great-grandson Harper Heath; a sister Dorothy J. Putnam of Florida. She was predeceased by a sister Miriam Callahan.
