- Funeral Mass Services for Paul Wilfrid Maybay, 84, of Leesville, will be held at 11 am Monday in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, conducted by Father Bob Sayer. Committal service with full Military Rites will follow at Pauline Church of Christ Cemetery, Fairview Crossroads, conducted by Rev. Rick Farwell. Memorials may be made to Pauline Church of Christ or Corpus Christi Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington.
Mr. Maybay, widower of Helen M. Maybay, died Thursday, June 10, 2004. Born in Marlborough, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Delphine Chaput Maybay. Formerly of Marlborough, Massachusetts, he had been a local resident here since 1957 and attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Mr. Maybay had retired from the United States Army serving during World War II and also had retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a Charter Member of The Charlie Spivack Society for the Preservation of Big Band Music.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Michele A. and James Cook of Elgin; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul G. and Deborah Maybay of Fairview Crossroads, Michael T. Maybay of Columbia, and Vincent A. and Teresa L. Maybay of Lexington; sister, Antoinette Richer of Massachusetts; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Mr. Maybay was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia Maybay and brother, Dr. Arthur Maybay
