  	Ellen B. Mabie, 84, died on Sunday, October 26, 2014 from heart failure. Born in Medford, MA, Ellen worked as a telephone operator until she retired. She relocated to Tacoma, WA in 1898. A long time member of the Tacoma Orthopedic Association, Ellen was a lifelong learner, avid gardener, and an intrepid traveler. Oldest of six children, she is survived by her twin sister Barbara Murphy (Springfield, Ma), daughters Heather Remillard (Naples, FL) and Penny Mabie (Seattle, WA), grandchildren Christopher and Maria, and great granddaughter Miranda. A gathering to celebrate Ellen's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, in the Evergreen Chapel af New Tacoma Cemetery in University Place, WA.
