Beloved wife of Howard Mabee Sr.; mother of Howard Jr., Alan, Christine LeBeau, Stephen (Esther), Brian, Kevin (Dorothy), Dana (Jennie) Mabee and the late April Jones and Bradley Mabee; grandmother of thirty-six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; sister of the late Stanley Fox, Hilton Lee, Grace Logan and Arlie Silverheels. Friends may call at the family residence, Route 438 and Versailles Plank Rd., Cattaraugus Indian Reservation; where the funeral service will be held Monday morning at 10 AM and 10:30 from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Cattaraugus Indian Reservation. Mrs. Mabee was First Woman Commander American Legion Post #1587, First Woman President of the C.I.R.V. Fire Department, First Relief Society President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, World War II Veteran W.A.C., retired Registered Nurse from J.N. Beloved husband of the late Inez (Fox) Maybee; beloved father of Howard Jr., Allan, Christine, LeBeau, Stephen (Esther), Brian, Kevin, Dana (Jennie) Maybee, and the late April Jones and Bradley Maybee; grandfather of 36 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother of Grace TallChief and the late Alex, Lester Fox, and Ruth Bennett. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the family residence, Rt. 438 and Versailles Plank Rd., where the funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10 and 11 o'clock from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. - Alan Maybee, 57, of the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation, died Tuesday (May 2, 2006). He is the father of Amisley Derrick Williams and the late Curtis Maybee; grandfather of Wesley, Arianna and Hailey; brother of Howard J., Christine LeBeau, Stephen (Esther), Brian, Kevin, Dana (Jannis) Maybee and the late April Jones and Bradley Maybee.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Wentland Funeral Home, 10634 Main St. (route 62) in North Collins, where the funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation.
Mr. Maybee was a member of the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation Volunteer Fire Department and the American Legion Post 1587 and was a Vietnam Veteran.
