- Arbie O. Mabie died at his residence on Butler Hill, near South Valley, Sunday morning at 5 o'clock, August 21st, aged seventy-nine years. Mr Mabie had been in failing health for some time but had been confined to his bed only a short time. The funeral services were held at the Christian Church, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. J. Bassett. Interment in South Valley cemetery. Mr Mabie is survived by his wife and three sons, Oscar of Schenectady; Elmer of South Valley; and Gifford of Worcester; and two daughters, Mrs Eva Smith of South Valley, Mrs Maud Thompson of Butler Hill; also grandchildren, two brothers and one sister. – Our South Valley Reporter

- Oscar-D. Mabie died at 8:10 o'clock yesterday morning, at his home, 30 Third street, after a stroke of apoplexy Thursday.
Mr. Mabie was born at South Valley, N. Y., May 15, 1860. and graduated from Lowell Business college. After being employed in several places in this state, he came to this city about 20 years ago and had since been employed at the General Electric works as inspector of the fire department.
He was married twice, his first wife being Addie Persons of Worcester. N. Y. In-1909 he married. Anna Welch of Paterson, N. J., who survives him.
Mr. Mabie was a member of Schenevus Valley lodge of Masons.
He is survived by his widow, three sons. Arba, DeForest and Dorr, and one daughter. Eva of Schenectady; his mother. Mrs. Louise Mabie, and two brothers and two sisters, Elmer and Gifford and Maude and Eva of South Valley.
There will be a brief service at the house' at 2 o'clock this afternoon, after which the body will be taken to South Valley, where the funeral will take place to-morrow, with burial in the South Valley cemetery

- Mrs. Louise Mabie, a life long resident of South Valley, passed away Saturday morning after a. brief illness, at the home of her son, Elmer Mabie. She was in her ninety-first year and .had enjoyed good health for one of her age. She was beloved by all who knew her. She was of a sweet disposition and will be missed in the family circle. She is. survived by her daughter, Mrs.. Eva Smith, of Cooperstown and Mrs. Homer Thompson of South Valley and her sons,. Elmer Mabie, of South Valley, .and. Gifford of Worcester together with numerous grandchildren and other relatives to mourn their loss. Services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon, Interment in .South Union cemetery

- The many friends of Mrs. Maude Thompson, wife of Supervisor Homer Thompson, were shocked and saddened to hear of her passing early Wednesday morning, March 2nd, at her home at Butlers Corners of heart trouble. She had been in failing health for some time past and confined to her bed most of the time since Thanksgiving. In December she was taken on the advice of her physician to the M. L B . Hospital at Cooperstown where she remained three weeks under observation. From there she went to the home of her sister, Mrs. William Smith at Cooperstown where she remained for two week returning to her home here the latter part of January. She was loved by all who knew her, an earnest Christian, a devoted wife and mother and a kind and loving neighbor always ready to help in time of need.
Mrs. Thompson was the youngest of six children born to Arba Oscar and Louise (Tillapaugh) Mabie and was in her fifty-seventh year. (She has been a resident of this community all her life with the exception of a year or two when she resided, at Worcester. In December, 1900, she was united in marriage to Homer Thompson
The funeral services were held Friday afternoon,. March 4th, at 1:30 o'clock, at the house and at 2 p. m. from the M. P . church of which she was a member, conducted by the Rev. George S. Martin of South Butler, a former pastor, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Fuller of Paines Hollow and the Rev. Mr. Robinson of Maryland.
She is survived by her husband and two sons, Clyde at home and Drayton of this place; one sister, Mrs. William Smith of Cooperstown; two brothers, Elmer Mabie of South Valley and Gifford Mabie of Worcester; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The many and beautiful floral pieces showed the esteem in which she was held. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family. Relatives and friends from Worcester, Oneonta, Carlisle, Cherry Valley, Pleasant Brook, Westford, Schenevus, Maryland, Roseboom, Amsterdam, Binghamton, Schenectady and Dorloo attended the funeral.

- Gifford Mabie, a well known farmer and highly respected resident, passed away, at his home on West Hill near Worcester, Thursday afternoon of last week, following a long illness from heart-trouble.
The deceased was born at South Valley, October 31, 1865, a son of Arba and Louise (Tillapaugh) Mabie He was twice married. His first wife was Miss Alice Rhodes of Worcester, who died August 11, 1902. On December 20th he married Mrs. Clara Kniffen, whose death occurred February 10, 1931.
Surviving arc one daughter, Mrs. Fred Waid, by his first marriage; a sister, Mrs. William Smith of Cooperstown; and a brother, Elmer Mabie of South Valley; and two granddaughters.
Mr. Mabie was an attendant of the Baptist church and a charter member of the Worcester Grange.
Funeral services were held from the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. L. C. Jones, pastor of the Baptist church officiated and burial was made in Maple Grove cemetery. Mr. Mabie had many friends who will regret to learn of ,his death, and who will extend sympathy to the family

- Elmer Mabie, a life-long resident of this place, died shortly before midnight Saturday of a heart ailment, from which he had been. suffering for several months.
Mr. Mabie was born on the farm where he resided, June 6, 1864, a son bi Arba O, Mabie and Louise (Tillapaugh) Mabie. He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Minnie Lovejoy, whom he married in 1888; a sister, Mrs. William Smith, Cooperstown; three children, Herbert, residing at home; Lee and Miss Louise Tillapaugh, South Valley.
Funeral services Wednesday from the South Valley Christian church, preceded by a prayer service from the residence at 1:30, the Rev. William Knorr, pastor of the church, officiating
