- Elmer Mabie, a life-long resident of this place, died shortly before midnight Saturday of a heart ailment, from which he had been. suffering for several months.
Mr. Mabie was born on the farm where he resided, June 6, 1864, a son bi Arba O, Mabie and Louise (Tillapaugh) Mabie. He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Minnie Lovejoy, whom he married in 1888; a sister, Mrs. William Smith, Cooperstown; three children, Herbert, residing at home; Lee and Miss Louise Tillapaugh, South Valley.
Funeral services Wednesday from the South Valley Christian church, preceded by a prayer service from the residence at 1:30, the Rev. William Knorr, pastor of the church, officiating

- Lee was Caretaker, South Valley Cemetery for many years, Very active in his family genealogy - Member of Roseboom Senior Citizens, Roseboom Grange 1414, Past President of the South Valley Cemetery Association in which he had be active since he was 18, retiring in 1989, Otsego Cooperative Extension, a clerk of the South Valley Church, a Town Board Councilman of Roseboom for 12 years, he drove school bus in South Valley for Cherry Valley Central School, he worked as a general carpenter, Manager of the South Valley Chinchilla Farm, a member of the Roseboom Historical Association for many years and retired from family dairy farm in 1950.

- Mrs. Minnie L. Mabie, aged 92, of South Valley, died on September 19 at her home, after a long illness.
Mrs. Mabie was born on June 21, 1866, in the Town of Roseboom, the daughter of John and Cynthia (Allen) Lovejoy. She was married to Elmer Mabie on February 15, 1888. H e died on July 18, 1936.
She was a member of the South Valley Christian Church for 80 years and active in many of the church societies
Surviving are one daughter, Miss Louise Mabie of South valley; two sons, Herbert of Cobleskill and Lee of South Valley: five grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the South Valley Christian Church, with the Rev. Myron Tripp, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. William Knorr of Sherburne. Burial was in South Valley Cemetery.
