- Clarence Mabie, farmer, died at his home in Cairo on Monday, May 21st, following a short illness of double pneumonia. Mr. Mabie, who was born at Decatur on Nov. 19, 1896, the son of James H. and Augusta Mabie, lived in Worcester at one time. He married Miss Lettie Hadsell of this village. Mr. Mabie served for ten months with Co. B 146th Machine Gun Battalion during the World War. The surviving relatives are his widow and three children, Iva Mae, Clarence Henry and George Edward, one brother, Ernest J. and one sister, Mrs. Maurice Goodrich, both of Worcester. Funeral services were held at the Mereness funeral parlors this morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. E. L. Martin of the Worcester Methodist church officiating. Fred L. Stilson post, American Legion, conducted military services at the grave. Interment was in the Cobleskill Rural cemetery.
