- Clarence Mabie, farmer, died at his home in Cairo on Monday, May 21st, following a short illness of double pneumonia. Mr. Mabie, who was born at Decatur on Nov. 19, 1896, the son of James H. and Augusta Mabie, lived in Worcester at one time. He married Miss Lettie Hadsell of this village. Mr. Mabie served for ten months with Co. B 146th Machine Gun Battalion during the World War. The surviving relatives are his widow and three children, Iva Mae, Clarence Henry and George Edward, one brother, Ernest J. and one sister, Mrs. Maurice Goodrich, both of Worcester. Funeral services were held at the Mereness funeral parlors this morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. E. L. Martin of the Worcester Methodist church officiating. Fred L. Stilson post, American Legion, conducted military services at the grave. Interment was in the Cobleskill Rural cemetery.

- Mr. Leslie H. Mabie, age 51, of Gloversville, died Friday, May 27, 2005 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.
He was born May 16, 1954 in Amsterdam, the son of George Sr. and Anna Probes Mabie. Leslie was employed at J.B.F. Industries in Gloversville for several years and last worked at Keymark Corp. in Fonda until his recent disability.
Mr. Mabie was a member of Gloversville Moose Lodge No. 351 and the Johnstown Eagles Aerie. He was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth L. Mabie of Broadalbin; his father, George Mabie Sr. of Gloversville; two brothers, George Mabie Jr. and Clarence Mabie of Gloversville; three sisters, Diana Nichols of Gloversville, Linda Rivenberg of Berne, NY and Bonnie Tyler of South Kourtright, NY; two granddaughters, Marcella Tomlinson and Kendra Lavery; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. Cremation will follow at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to the family

- Mr. George E. Mabie Sr., 76, of Gloversville, died Sunday at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home. Mr. Mabie was born October 12, 1929 in Medusa, N.Y., the son of the late Clarence and Lettie Hadsell Mabie. He had been self-employed as a dairy farmer much of his life and also had been employed at Beech Nut in Canajoharie for 13 years. and for the Sperry Corp. as a circuit board maker while living in Utah from 1979 to 2004. George was an Army veteran of WW II and a member of the American Legion Post No. 222. He is survived by his wife, Clara Orlosky Mabie of Gloversville, whom he married August 10, 1974; his children, George E. Mabie Jr., Clarence H. Mabie and Diana Mabie, all of Gloversville, Linda Rivenburg of Berne, N.Y. and Bonnie Peeler of S. Corkwright, N.Y. He is also survived by siblings, Leslie Chase of Ft. Plain, Dora Mae Humphrey of Speculator, Loretta Williams of Ft. Plain, Ella Davis of Glen and his stepsisters, Marian Bruce of Cobleskill, Hilda Graham of Amsterdam, Vida Pitt of Medusa and Dorothy Palmer. Additional survivors include several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Leslie H. Mabie; a brother, Clarence Mabie; a sister, Inez Rivenburg and a stepsister, Katherine Kern. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday from the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. The family will receive friends Wednesday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Rockwood Cemetery.
