  Anecdote	gravediggers2 on ancestry.com writes: I am researching this family for my cousin who is kin to Effie and her parents. Now you will find that Effie's parents are Charles A Le Grand and Clara Mabie. However, Charles A Le Grand was not known as that until he went to NY. He was born in Metamora, Franklin Co IN to Richard Parvis and Eliza Jane "Jennie" Garrison. And when he was born he was Clarence Albert Parvis. We have yet to discover why he changed his name and when he did it, before or after going to NY or on the way. We know he was still in Brookville, Franklin Co IN in 1880 single. Of course there are no 1890 census and then we find him as Charles Le Grande in 1900 with wife Clara Mabie and children. We discovered that he had changed his name because some papers handwritten by my cousins family (Parvis) stated that Clarence's wife was Clara and that he had children Ruby Estell who died young then Orion, Effie, and another daughter named Ruby Estell who did live. It also said he was married before Clara Mabie to a Rinda Snyder in NY and third to Lottie Contine who was his wife but evidentially separated at the time of his death.
