- On May 24th, Miss Gertrude Walrath, Fort Plain became the bride of Gerald F. Mabie of South Valley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mabie in, a ceremony performed by the Rev. Mahl
of Fort Plain.
The bride, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Walrath, was attended by her sister Miss Doris Walrath, while Ralph Mickle, Jr., was best man for the groom.
The bride was attired in white and the bridesmaid wore aqua and both wore corsages of red roses and lilies of the valley.
Mr. Mabie is a graduate of. Fort Plain High school before joining the Navy where he served for nearly three years in the Pacific area..
After a week-end trip to Pine Lake, he happy couple will be at home for the present with the brides parents. Mr. Mabie is a valued employee of Walrath Coal company of Fort Plain.
Mr. and Mrs; Gerald Mabie will be given a reception at the school house Friday evening those attending, bring sandwiches and cake or cookies
