- Karl H. Mabie, 55, of Fulton, formerly of Marshville, died Wednesday, Aug. 14.
Born April 9, 1947 in Amsterdam, he was the son of David and Mary Bowerman Mabie. He was a 1965 graduate of Canajoharie High School.
For over 30 years, Mr. Mabie worked as an over-the-road truck driver until becoming the Sidekit Division Northeast Regional Coordinator for Werner Enterprises based out of Omaha, Neb.
He was an avid NASCAR, Winston Cup Division, and NASCAR modified division race fan. He was also a Mapletown Subordinate, Pomona and NYS Grange member.
Surviving are his mother, Mary B. Mabie of Marshville; two sons, Donald Mabie of Hamilton and Kyle Mabie of Hagaman; a daughter, Lauren Mabie of Hagaman; two brothers, D. Wayne Mabie of Ballston Lake and Robert Mabie of Gloversville; a sister, Renee Merolli of Douglas, Mass.; a grandson; a step-grandson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service was held Sunday at the Marshville Evangelical Church, Marshville, with the Rev. Robert Dievendorf officiating.
Interment will take place in the Ames Cemetery at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marshville Evangelical Church or the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter

- Donald A. "Buck" Mabie, 42, of Morrisville, died Thursday, June 7, 2012. A career firefighter and emergency medical technician, Buck earned the level two fire investigator title at the NYS Fire Academy. He was active in several fire departments, including South Minden; Mohawk Valley Ambulance Corps, serving as deputy chief of vehicle maintenance; Middleville, where he served as past president and first assistant chief and received the Firefighter of the Year Award; S&S Ambulance; a volunteer firefighter for Madison Fire and Morrisville Fire, where he served as past president and former EMS captain; and an EMT for Greater Lenox Ambulance and SOMAC, where he received the Thomas J. Gilpatrick award. Buck was a member of Patriot Guard Riders and the Red Knights Firefighters Motorcycle Club. He was a NYS licensed armed guard for Gryphon Patrol. Buck was predeceased by his parents, Karl and Betty, in 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Beth of Morrisville; his stepson, Matthew Marshall of Morrisville; his siblings, Kyle (Chrissy) Mabie and Lauren Merendo, both of Hagaman, NY; he is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morrisville Community Church. Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Tait Funeral Home, Inc., 2333 Fenner Rd., Cazenovia.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hamilton

- St. Luke's Church, Amsterdam, was the setting on March 22 for the marriage of Miss Betty Ann Kietzmann, daughter of Mrs. Anna Kietzmann of Hagaman and Karl Hanson Mabie. son of Mr. and Mrs. David H. Mabie of Canajoharie. Officiating at the ceremony was the Rev. Floyd H. Mover.
Given in marriage by her brother, Howard Kietzmann, the bride was attended by Mrs. Howard Kietzmann as matron of honor. Best man was Frank Merolli of Whitinsville, Mass., and ushering the guests were the brothers of the bridegroom, David W. Mabie and Robert J. Mabie.
Following the ceremony, a Wedding reception was held at Butch's Drum in Amsterdam. Upon their return from a wedding trip to Darlington, S. C, and Washington, D. C, the newlyweds will reside at 37 North Blvd., Hagaman.
A graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School, Amsterdam, the bride is employed by Montco Manufacturing Co. in that city. Mr. Mabie was graduated from Canajoharie High School and is employed at Nadler Bros. Dairy in Amsterdam
