- John "Jack" E Mabie, 72, of 436 Pine Tree Drive, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at his home.
He was born Jan 12, 1926, in Fond du Lac, a son of Harry and Ellen Smollen Mabie. On June 18, 1949, he married Lois Marie Thurman at St Joseph's Catholic Church.
Mr Mabie was a 1943 graduate of St Mary's Springs Academy. He entered the US Navy and served as a corpsman from 1943 to 1946. After military service, he attended Seton Hall College in New Jersey and graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1949.
He owned and operated John E Mabie and Associates Insurance Co in Fond du Lac until retiring in 1982. He loved to fly airplanes and acquired his private pilot's license in 1968. He was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church, Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75 and Fond du Lac Eagles Club.
Survivors include wis wife; two sons, Timothy J and his wife Barbara of Sacramento, Calif, and Daniel J and his wife Diane of Green Bay; one daughter, Mary Brigid Lodes and her husband David of Nashotah; seven grandchildren, Patrick Mabie of Sacramento, Calif, Amanda, Adam, Briana and Courtney Mabie, all of Green Bay, and Mathew and Katie Kodes of Nashotah; one brother, Dr Richard and his wife Kathleen of Clairmont, Calif; two sisters, Marjorie Hegener of Pacific Palisades, Calif, and June Dunham and her husband William of Edison, NJ; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Mabie of Brookfield and Elsie Mabie of Neenah; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Preceding his in death were his parents; one granddaughter, Mollie Mabie; two brothers, Robert and Thomas Mabie; one brother-in-law, Joseph Hegner.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am Wednesday at Zacherl Funeral Home, and at 10 am at St Joseph's Church. The Rev Patrick Heppe will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, the Trier-Puddy American Legion Firing Squad will conduct military services.

- Timothy J. Mabie passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the age of 70 years old. Tim was a graduate of Saint Mary Springs Academy in Fond duLac, Wisconsin, and then received his bachelor's degree in communications at UW Oshkosh.
He was a man of faith and an active member of Saint Joseph Marello Catholic Church, where he served as a lector of the Word of the Lord. He was also a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Tim was an insurance agent for his entire career, both in Wisconsin and California, and an avid sports fan with his allegiance always torn between the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers. His life was cut short by a recent diagnosis of (ALS) amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Tim is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Heinzen Mabie, his son, Patrick (Lisa), and his beloved dog Minnie. Son of Lois Mabie, brother of Mary Lodes, sisters in law Diane Mabie, Kathy Vogel, and Ann Kaczkowski (Konrad). Also loved and survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his newborn daughter Molly, father John Mabie, brother Dan Mabie, father and mother in law Tony and Dora Heinzen, and brothers in law Walter Vogel and Dave Lodes.
In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to Barbara Mabie for a memorial yet to be determined. Special thanks to all the Sutter ICU nurses and Drs. Kim, Clark, and Knox. Due to the pandemic, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Lois M. Mabie, 99, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024 at St. Francis Home with her family by her side.
Lois was born August 24, 1925 in Fond du Lac to Robert and Rosalie (Gross) Thurman. She graduated from St. Mary’s Springs Academy and St. Agnes School of Nursing, now known as Marian University.
On June 18, 1949, she married John “Jack” E. Mabie at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
She lived her life ruled by her love of faith, family, friends, and profession. Lois was affectionately referred to as “St. Agnes” by her family for her deep dedication to her career as a nurse. She spent the majority of her career at St. Agnes Hospital as a nurse leader and was best known for her involvement in the start of the Physical Rehab Center at St. Agnes. Lois was not only a nurse but a mentor to the next generations of nurses who followed in her footsteps.
Lois loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lois loved being outside and enjoyed going for rides in her daughter’s convertible and family trips to Gilles.
After Lois retired from nursing, she stayed plenty busy volunteering at the senior center, working the voting polls, and many other community services. She enjoyed a good game of Bridge and was involved in many different bridge clubs. She was a proud member of the Lois Club and Altrusa.
Lois is survived by her daughter Mary Lodes of Pewaukee; daughters-in-law Diane Mabie of Green Bay and Barb Mabie of Plymouth; sister Peggy Laehn of Fond du Lac; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother-in-law John Balthazor; as well as other relatives and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband John, sons Timothy and Daniel Mabie, granddaughter Molly Mabie, son-in-law David Lodes, two brothers Reverend James Thurman and Jack Thurman, and sister Joan Thurman-Balthazor.
