- John "Jack" E Mabie, 72, of 436 Pine Tree Drive, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at his home.
He was born Jan 12, 1926, in Fond du Lac, a son of Harry and Ellen Smollen Mabie. On June 18, 1949, he married Lois Marie Thurman at St Joseph's Catholic Church.
Mr Mabie was a 1943 graduate of St Mary's Springs Academy. He entered the US Navy and served as a corpsman from 1943 to 1946. After military service, he attended Seton Hall College in New Jersey and graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1949.
He owned and operated John E Mabie and Associates Insurance Co in Fond du Lac until retiring in 1982. He loved to fly airplanes and acquired his private pilot's license in 1968. He was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church, Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75 and Fond du Lac Eagles Club.
Survivors include wis wife; two sons, Timothy J and his wife Barbara of Sacramento, Calif, and Daniel J and his wife Diane of Green Bay; one daughter, Mary Brigid Lodes and her husband David of Nashotah; seven grandchildren, Patrick Mabie of Sacramento, Calif, Amanda, Adam, Briana and Courtney Mabie, all of Green Bay, and Mathew and Katie Kodes of Nashotah; one brother, Dr Richard and his wife Kathleen of Clairmont, Calif; two sisters, Marjorie Hegener of Pacific Palisades, Calif, and June Dunham and her husband William of Edison, NJ; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Mabie of Brookfield and Elsie Mabie of Neenah; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Preceding his in death were his parents; one granddaughter, Mollie Mabie; two brothers, Robert and Thomas Mabie; one brother-in-law, Joseph Hegner.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am Wednesday at Zacherl Funeral Home, and at 10 am at St Joseph's Church. The Rev Patrick Heppe will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, the Trier-Puddy American Legion Firing Squad will conduct military services.

- David E. Lodes, PhD Passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 25, 2013, at the age of 62 years. Dave is survived by Mary and their children: Matthew (Meghan) Lodes and Katie (Louie) Andrew. Beloved Papa of Keegan, Logan, Quinn and Hadley. Brother of Michael (Kathy) and Richard (Judy). Also loved and survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents George and Lucille. Dave was a graduate of New Holstein High School, received his Undergraduate and two Masters degrees from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh and later earned a PhD from Marquette University. He began his lifelong career as an educator in the Lomira and Elmbrook School Districts as a science teacher. He dedicated 28 years as an Educator, Dean and Principal at Arrowhead Union School District. The last 14 years at Arrowhead High School, he led the Arrowhead community as the Superintendent, retiring in 2007. After a brief retirement, he spent two years as the Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Dave cherished creating environments where all children had an opportunity to learn. Upon full retirement, Dave enjoyed developing a start-up business in aquaponics with his close friends. He also enjoyed golf, travel, reading, spending time with his family and most importantly with his precious grandchildren. He was a member of St. Anthony on the Lake Parish. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013, starting at 3:00 PM with Funeral Mass at 6:00 PM at St. Anthony's on the Lake Catholic Church, W280 N2101 Prospect Avenue, Pewaukee, WI with Fr. Paul Hartmann officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Arrowhead Scholarship Fund in Dave's name, Arrowhead High School, P.O. Box 462, Hartland, WI 53029. You Will Be Missed
