- The funeral of Earl Mabie, 69, retired broom maker of Salina, was at 2 pm Tuesday at the Ruth Smith Funeral Home, Dr. George Taylor officiating. Interment was at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Mr Mabie, who operated his own broom shop at Front and Elm from 1948 until he retired in 1954, died at 5 pm Jan.25 in St John's hospital, where he was taken the previous day. He had been ill a long time. His home was 1325 Gypsum.
A resident of Salina since 1948, Mr. Mabie was born April 17, 1893, in Mason City, Iowa.
His family includes his widow, Faye, a son Albert, Picayunem Miss.; a step daughter, Mrs Deloris Younce, 2209 Mairfair Drive, Salina; a brother, Jack Mabie, Granville, Michigan; and two grandchildren.
