- After an illness lasting only a week Elbert Hegeman Bennett died at his home, 701 Greene Avenue, on Wednesday evening from pneumonia. Mr. Bennett came from one of the oldest Long Island families, and was born in Oyster Bay seventy-one years ago, where he received his early education. He came to Brooklyn thirty-five years ago, and had made it his home ever since. He is survived by a widow, Mary E. Maybee, and one daughter. Services will be held this evening at his late home. The burial will be in Brookville. Undertaker Johnson has charge.
