It was twenty-three years ago that the deceased and her husband came to Freeport, where they have since made their home. Previous to their corning to Freeport they lived on a farm near Bolton, where Mr. Ellis was looked upon as one of the most prominent men of the vicinity.
The deceased was a member of the Baptist church when living at Belvidere, and when she moved to Freeport she joined the church of that denomination in this city. Since joining the First Baptist church In Freeport she has been one of the foremost members of the congregation.
