Fulcher, who died suddenly of heart failure on Wednesday morning of last week, took place from his last residence Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services were conducted by the Rev. Geo. B. Marsh of Detroit. Elon Gauntlett and Mrs. Nina MacLachlan rendered sweet music and Mrs. George Steidle played the accompaniment. Those who acted as pallbearers were D. B. Seeley, William Gauntlett, Walter Draper, James Johnston, Frank Van Schoick and Lynn Barnes. Interment was in Rice's cemetery. Thomas B. Fulcher, third son of Wm. and Sarah Fulcher, was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, July 13, 1834. The family consisted of five brothers and two sisters, of which Robert of Maderiaville, IN. George and Mrs. Morford of Coldwater survive. In 1843, the family came to Michigan and established a home in Exeter, Monroe county. Here Mr. Fulcher grew to manhood and on July 8, 1855, was united in marriage with Mercy J. Scripter of Girard, Branch county. She died Dec. 2, 1866, leaving one son, W. P., of London. On February 25, 1868. Mr. Fulcher was married a second time to Esther Maybee, who survives him together with three children, Clark A. of Monroe, Milo O. and Mrs. Julia Lee of Milan, a son, Perry, having passed away in infancy. Mr. Fulcher was a veteran of the civil war, being a member of the 11th Michigan cavalry, which was mustered into actual service Dec. 10, 1863, at Kalamazoo, MI and received an honorable discharge at Nashville, TN, Sept. 22, 1865, having seen hard service in the campaigns in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia. After he returned from the war he lived in Coldwater, MI with his family for a time, then came to Monroe county where after a short residence in Exeter, he came to Milan township, where he resided for the balance of his life with the exception of four years spent at Scofield. Latterly Mr. and Mrs. Fulcher, in consequence of Mrs. Fulcher's infirm health, made their home with their son and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Lee. Mr. Fulcher was a member of Lucius Taylor Post, No. 274, GAR. Mr. Fulcher had not been ill, but was completely worn out from anxiety and care for his invalid wife. Deceased was a kind father and a loving and devoted husband. He was highly respected by all who knew him. Card of thanks, We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to the friends who assisted us in our recent bereavement to the singers for their services, and to the friends for the floral offerings. Mrs. T. B. Fulcher, W. P. Fulcher, C. A. Fulcher, M. O. Fulcher, Mrs. Wm. Lee.
