- Mrs. Zipporah E. Kist, widow of A.T.S. Kist and one of Warsaw's oldest and most highly respected citizens, died at 10:30 o'clock on Wednesday forenoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ora Funk, corner of Market and Indiana streets. Mrs. Kist's death followed a long period of sickness. She had been an invalid for the past twenty-two years, her sickness dating back to injuries received in a fall. During the past two years her condition was very serious. Mrs. Kist had been a resident of Warsaw for more than half a century. She was born in Wood county, Ohio. At the time of her death she was in her eighty-third year. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Ora funk, with whom she lived; Jasper Mabe, of Whitten, Iowa; Dr. L.D. Mabie, of Kansas city, Kan.; Dayton Mabie, of Sioux City, Iowa. The funeral will be held at the home on Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., Rev L.J. Naftzger officiating. Interment will be at North Webster

- Mrs. Merl C. Funk, aged 84, a life-long resident of this city, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George W. Anglin, of 504 East Center street, following a serious illness of 10 days, death being due to thrombosis. She had been an invalid for a number of years and received the constant and devoted care from Mrs. Anglin. She was the former Miss Ora Mabie, and was born Nov 13, 1863, the daughter of Lot and Zipporah (Cox) Mabie. She was married in 1884 to Mr. Funk, who is deceased. Mrs. Funk was well-known as a vocalist. For many years she was soloist at the First Methodist church where she was an active member for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Zerelda Reading club. Surviving relatives include her daughter, Mrs. Anglin; one son, Joseph L. Funk, of Phoenix, Ariz.; a grandson, Joseph Funk Anglin, of Los Angeles, Cal.; and a brother, Dr. D.L. Mabie, of Kansas City, Kan. Friends will be received at the residence of Mrs. Anglin after 2 p.m. Thursday until the funeral service which will be held there at 2 p.m. Friday. Rev. R.C. Plank will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. Arrangements for the service are being made by the Landis funeral home
