Witness-Obituary |
Nov 1905 |
- There are but few people in Prince Edward County but will remember the cheery face of Mr. Isaac Mabee, and his death has cast a gloom over this vicinity. He was a kind and loving husband and father, a good neighbor, a friend to the needy; energetic; in business, and to know him was to admire and respect him.
He was born in 1820 and was married in 1841 to Miss Jemima Williams, who died in Denver shortly after their removal to that place. After the loss of his beloved wife he returned to Canada, and lived at the home of his daughter, Mrs, B. F. Comins, until the time of his death, Nov. 1st, 1905, when. he passed peacefully away in the 86th year of his age. He was a member of the Methodist church for many years and died in the faith. He leaves Behind him six children to mourn his loss. Mrs. Mary E. Roblin, of Rochester, N. Y.; Mrs. B. F. Comins, Thurlow; Mrs. J. J. Moses, Denver, Colo.; W. A. Mabee, Denver, Colo.; P. A. Mabee, Odessa, Ont., and M. I. Mabee, of this place.
His remains were placed in Cherry Valley cemetery to await the final call.
