- Mrs Sophia Mabie, 91, of 151 Everett Place, Englewood, a lifelong resident of Bergen County and widow of Civil War veteran James H Mabie, died in a sanitarium at Central Avenue, Englewood, yesterday.
Born in the Taylor homestead in Harrington Park, Mrs Mabie was the daughter of Issac Taylor and Eliza Paulius Taylor. Their farm adjoined the John Bogert farm, just off Old Hook Road in Harrington Park, and is now a part of the property owned by Hackensack Water Company. Mrs Mabie attended little Old Hook school in Westwood, now the residence of C A Duke.
She was a charter member of Highwood Church of Englewood, now the Community Church on Hudson Avenue, and taught Sunday School there for 45 years. Mr Mabie died in 1890.
Surviving are five sons: Warren of Florida, Edmond of Portland, Ore; George of Englewood, with whom Mrs Mabie lived; Charles of New York, and Thomas of Hillsdale.
Services will be conducted by the Rev Edwin L McIlvaine at the Community Church, Englewood tomorrow, and burial will follow immediately at Eastwood Cemetery, Old Hook Road, Westwood.

- Funeral services were to be held today for Thomas Wilson Mabie of Route 6, Box 1956, who died Sunday in Lakeland General Hospital. He was 78.
A native of Closter, Mr Mabie was a retired painter and decorator. He was a member of the Protestant Reformed Church.
Mr Mabie is survived by his wife, Allene, and a brother Edmund of Lakeland.
Interment will be in Westwood Cemetery.
